I have a Kinect and an old Elite XBox 360. It's used and I haven't got the cables to hook it up yet BUT all the YouTube videos I have been seeing include setup instructions for an "extender" for the Xbox WiFi adapter! WTF, do I *HAVE* to use wireless in order to use the Kinect?? I use DSL to get Xbox Live, the Xbox Wifi adapter is an expensive useless piece of crap.

My mom is really bad for picking guys that are jerks, 4 of the men she was with after leaving my father abused me sexually and 2 abused me physically. I had never told her about the abuse b/c she is schizophrenic and can't have stress.

The man she is dating now (1 month) is already controlling every aspect of her life, he calls her every hour and has to know where she is and who she's with and what she's doing. He is living with a homeless guy and the guy's girlfriend. I drove my mom over to his house and he took off with her (he hates it when I spend time with her) and left me with the homeless guy, who told me that the three roommates have an "arrangement" for group sex. He asked me to be part of it (I'm 24).

I left and called my mom, she confronted her bf and he told her that he was "shocked" that such a thing was going on in his house, he threw them out. Lately now, he has been texting me with msgs like "I'm jacking off to you" and "I want to eat you for breakfast". My mom will not believe me. I showed her the texts, she says he says it's a joke. What can I say to convince her to leave this asshole?

I dated this guy for a few months. We were good together, and his 10-yr-old son and I got along great, but he dumped for somebody else. This somebody else (I'll call her "Michelle") is part of my best friend Darla's AA group.

Darla told me that Michelle has constantly said (in AA) that she HATES kids. She doesn't like messes, or cleaning up after people, and she "never wants to be a mother, ever". Since she has been dating my ex, he has cut his visits with his son from twice a week down to once a month. Now I find out that my ex has asked Michelle to marry him.

I talked to my ex and tried to hint that maybe Michelle wouldn't be the best stepmom, but he accused me of being jealous of her. (I'm not.) The thing is, I can't just come out and tell him what she said, because she said it in a "secure group". Really, Darla should not have told me in the first place, and if I repeat what Michelle said, I could get Darla kicked out of AA.

I am just really worried about that 10-year-old boy. He seems very distant these days whenever I see him, and he won't talk to me -- he's mad that I didn't end up with his dad. Should I tell my ex what Michelle said in AA? How can I do it without getting Darla in trouble?

I am using Windows 7 on a Gateway FX laptop. My computer insists on using "High Definition Audio Device" as my sound device.... the driver is version 6.1.7600.16385 from Microsoft. (I tried installing RealTek audio driver for Windows 7 but my system insists that the Microsoft driver is the best one.)

Every once in a while -- usually when I am in the middle of a movie, game, or mp3 -- the sound (or microphone) will suddenly quit. The only way to fix it is to uninstall the sound driver, restart the computer, and reinstall the sound driver. I am TIRED of doing this. I have reinstalled that stupid driver at least six times a week for the past 2 months. It always works, but there must be a better way!

How do I fix this sound problem permanently, short of putting my foot through the screen or pencils in my eardrums?

(Please don't tell me I have bad files/codecs. I already worked on the problem from this angle and got nowhere. My codecs are up to date, and I have no bad files/malware.)

Windows never shows a problem with the drivers, the drivers show as "working properly", I just can't get any sound.
