how to keep metal from rusting while maintaining conductivity?
Is there a process or chemical that can be used on steel to prevent it from rusting while allowing it to remain conductive? I'm loozing at putting plates on top of a faraday suit but don't want to put anything on the metal that impedes it's electrical conductivity. Is anyone familiar with a product or process that can be done at home or in a workshop to achieve this?

So I understand how a circuit breaker works. What I am wonder is if there is a way you can make something or if there is a product made to draw enough current to trip the breaker? I'm an aspiring EE major and I'm looking at going into weapons development with the military. So now that you know I'm weapons developer crazy not homicidal maniac crazy, I'm trying to find ways to cut off power to (a) room(s) from within said area without access to the breaker box and without completely destroying all other electronics in the area. I just foresee being able to turn out the lights as a great tactical advantage in a sight dominated world. And lay off on abuse because this is far from the strangest question I've seen on here.

I'm working on high voltage projects and was wondering what would occur if I place the high voltage output of one of my circuits near enough the ground/neutral wire of a wall outlet(standard 110VAC) that it would arc across. I figured better to ask everyone else than try it myself and completely ruin the wiring. I'm assuming it would trip the breaker, would that be a correct assumption? Or would it just go straight to ground without ill effect? If the later happens what could I do to make it so my circuits would trip the breaker? Thanks!

Here's photos of the transformer in question. My dad pulled it put of some electronic he can't remember what and has had it sitting on the garage. Recently I've been working with high voltage and he pulled this out for me to work with just having trouble figuring it out.

Across the red, white blue there's continuity and a 2 ohm resistance. I'm assuming this is the leads to the primary coil. But why do I have 3.
On what I assume to be the output, the black brown orange and red wires have continuity to each other. Brown orange and red measure 2.3 ohms resistance to each other and any connection to black (black to red/ black to orange/ black to brown) is 3.6 ohms. These 4 do not short to the assumed primary.
The 2 blue, black and 2 yellow are connected and all measure at 5 ohm they do not short to the primary and do not have continuity to the other wires.
I'm trying to find out whether this is a step up or step down transformer an also figure out how to connect the primary properly and which cables to tap into for the different voltages.
Lastly on the output side on the waxed paper there is a stamp "115V"
If additional information is needed I can attempt to get that. Hopefully I can get this thing working for one of my projects!

I have a small vizio tv that is small enough that it wasn't made to be wall mount friendly. Is there an online guide on how to make some type wall mount that will hold the tv on the wall? I figure it would be fairly simple and couple design one myself but I figure if someone else has already made a set of instructions on it I can spend my time doing my other chores.

So I have a Jacobs Ladder that I made and its mounted onto a sheet of plastic. Long story short its a double bladed Jacobs Ladder sword. The base has to be close together to allow adequate space along the top, however it's so close it's the only place the voltage break down occurs.
What is the best material I can place in between that will insulate the metal to force the breakdown higher on the sword? If its something that takes some effort to place then please give me a link with instructions on how to apply it.

I drive a 2001 Ford Expedition, last Saturday I was going out to do a service project which required some off road travel. Upon returning the brakes would go to the floor. After we returned we were hearing grinding whenever the brakes were applied, upon inspection the bolts(2) holding the caliper in place of the front left wheel were not in place, no the heads did not brake off the threads were completely clear of derby. Did someone tamper with my brakes and should I be concerned?

So I'm building a self contained Jacob's Ladder in the design of the "Amp" from the game Infamous 2. I am going to be running about 100kV through the ladder and need a way to reduce that back to the 12 volts the battery I will be using is. (So I'm not running 100kV back into a 12 Volt battery.) Am I correct in the assumption that the return voltage will be 100kV or am I still a bit more novice than I'd like to admit?
The main question however is how to take 100kV down to 12?
