Hello everyone,

I am a German citizen living in the United States (for a year now). My husband is also a German citizen and lives here on a student visa; he is studying at a local college. I currently have a J1 visa - I am working for Disney fulltime.

I have close American friends who would help me in any way possible, am fluent in four languages and I have some savings, but I don't have immediate US family and cannot find any US employer willing to sponsor me for a job.

I am determined to stay here in the USA and am trying to figure out how to do it the legal way.

I just sent off my F2 visa application. The problem with that visa is that I cannot work here on a F2 visa, I need a greencard as soon as possible. Especially since my husband is also not allowed to work on a student visa.

What possibilities do I have to get a greencard, what can I expect to do and pay for it and how long can I expect to wait for it? I have been looking all over the internet, but it's all very confusing.

Any links and advice would be very much appreciated!

Was I'm a wedding/lifestyle photographer and was recently contacted by a company to do a major shoot over 5 days at 6 locations across my state of their employees going about everyday business for promotional purposes. They need 400-500 images.

I normally start my wedding prices at $2200-4000-5500 as variations for one day collections. However, I would really like to get my toes wet in commercial photography and do book this job while remaining competitive and without undercutting the market. What should I charge? I'm looking at at least 3 hours of traveling each day, the shooting time each day (5-6 hrs), plus editing and delivering the 400-500 images from RAW to .jpeg format. I am one of three photographers left in the running and they are deciding based on price, I THINK, they haven't said. Plus, I am a member of a husband wife team, so we are both shooting it together.

1. Livebooks - I have now and love how my site looks, but it does not generate the SEO results which it promises and which I would like.

2. Showit - I like how it looks and sounds, and that several celeb photographers use it, and the + sites, but again, like Livebooks it runs off of Flash and seems very similar to Livebooks while costing a similar hefty fee of 40 dollars per month.

3. A Wordpress site, which seems more complicated but which is probably going to give me the SEO results I am looking for.

My main goal is to pop up higher in Google searches for Virginian wedding photographers.

Whenever I try playing music now, it says "not enough memory."

It wasn't THAT hot today (75 f) and I did not intend to stay away from the car, but the lady at the door kept talking and it took about 20 min. to get back. The car wasn't even that hot, but a bit of sun was touching the mp3 player. Now it says not enough memory, even though I already deleted some apps and moved some to my micro SD card.

My wife and I are moving to the USA and hope to continue our work as wedding photographers.

We're already registered on wedding.com, as well as a few other sites. Are there any other sites I am missing that you could recommend? Message boards where brides look for photographers? We are also already advertising on Craigslist, too!

Came home at 5.30 or 6pm with a package of turkey breasts, non-frozen, and was putting away groceries but received an important phone call. Just realized that the turkey was still sitting on the table, and the package is room temperature. It's 7:11 pm here in Germany. Is it still alright after being unrefrigerated for an hour and a half at most?

My wife & I are moving to SE Virginia from Bavaria. In Southern Germany, we pay 20 euros per month for wireless internet and an international flat rate to the US.

Is there anything like that in the Eastern US? So far, best I have been quoted was $34.99 for COX 3MB/s internet plus Vonage phone service for $25 per month.

Is there any combo pack from a single company with perhaps 15mb/s that stays under 50$-60$ per month?

According to my Xbox 360, my NAT type is OPEN. And that of my brother in law. Yet, neither of us can connect to each other's party when we try to start one in Halo Reach.

It sucks. I'm moving to the States next month and he is staying in Germany. Would be great if we could keep playing together.

We're both using an Alice wireless router, NAT type OPEN, and supposedly the signal is strong...

Yet it constantly says "unable to join party" etc....

Any tips would be helpful...

I have an idea for a TV show. To whom should I send the idea at TLC?

Quick points about me-

-Left college after 2 years because I lost my job and had a job offer overseas as an English teacher, so I moved to Germany with 80 bucks and became successful here

-Moving back to the States, would love to get into journalism, for a medium sized or small town newspaper would be fine

-Founded my college paper and worked as a reporter for it, and have done some freelance work

-Very experienced with photography, have traveled a lot, sold some travel pics on Getty, to local papers, also freelanced for local German papers at events

-Moving to USA in August, and have applied for... probably between 1,000 and 2,000 journalism jobs over the past 8 months from California to Virginia, have maybe gotten 20 responses, of which only one was a maybe, the rest were negative.

So, tips on what I should be including in my cover letter? Maybe one of you has a sample cover letter to summarize my experience? How should I be pitching myself? How should I be formulating my resume with my experience as a freelancer and an English teacher (has nothing to do with journalism, but my point is I did that for 3 years without a degree, and became head of the English Dept. at the private school where I work for crying out loud...) ... ? I would be MOST grateful for any tips. PS. Frankly, I am happy about not having amassed 15 years of debt with student loans and instead got to see the world.

What would be some jobs she could start looking for as someone with a completed Bachelor's Degree in Learning Difficulties and Disabilities in America? Would she have a chance at getting such a job, not being a citizen? She is very interested in moving there.

Wir ziehen dieses Jahr in die USA um (Flug von München nach Philadelphia) und nehmen unseren Chihuahua in der Kabine mit.

Er ist ausreichend geimpft, gechipt und reist mit EU Pass.

Ich weiß, dass ich für ihn ein paar Tage vor dem Abflug ein Gesundheitszeugnis austellen lassen muss.

Allerdings bin ich mir nicht sicher, ob ich das Gesundheitszeugnis von einem normalen Tierarzt, oder doch von einem Amtstierarzt brauche.

Und was genau muss in diesem Gesundheitszeugnis drin stehen (gibt es vllt. einen Vordruck?)?

Leider konnte ich diese Infos nirgendwo im Internet finden...aber vielleicht weiß es ja einer von Euch!

Hi guys!

We have two wonderful Maine Coon cats who share a litter pan that stands in the bathroom.

Since two weeks we also have a young Chihuahua (8 months), who is trained to use a litter pan whenever he can´t go outside (these little dogs need to go to the bathroom a lot).

So I bought him his seperate, own, little litterpan, filled it with the litter he was used to and set it in the opposite corner of the bathroom.

It all went fine the first days - the cats kept using theirs, the dog his.

BUT NOW - the cats have gotten a hang of ALSO using the small dog´s litter pan instead of their own. Therefore the dog refuses to use it. He pees and poops on the floor right next to it when he needs to go. I guess he doesn´t want to share his litterpan.

I have tried shushing away the cats from the dog´s litterpan when I can catch them using it, but it won´t stop.

How can I solve this problem? Do you have any suggestions for me?

I was thinking of putting down puppy pads for the dog instead of the litterpan, since the cats would certainly prefer their litterpan then, but he won´t use it, since he´s not used to it.

Maybe you know a special trick?

Another problem that goes hand in hand with my litterpan blues: Our chihuahua tries to eat the cat poop from the litterpan. Which I don´t think is healthy for him - plus, it´s disgusting.

How can I keep him from doing this?

I can´t hide the cat´s litterpan (yes, the cats use both) from him.

I am totally running out of ideas here.... :(

There has to be a solution for both of my problems!

Help and advice would be sooooooo much appreciated!
