Jehovah's Witnesses. Why are your Governing Body members eager to participate in war?
"14 During the great tribulation, a change will take place regarding the brothers who take the lead on earth. At some point, all anointed ones who are still on earth will be gathered to heaven to share in the war of Armageddon. (Matt. 24:31; Rev. 2:26, 27) This means that the Governing Body will no longer be with us on earth."
https://www.jw.org/en/publications/magazines/watch...
I thought JWs did not participate in war.
But your Governing Body is saying they will be gathered to heaven to share in the war of Armageddon.
So basically, they will go to heaven, gain super powers, grow beards, then come back on flying horses and kill everyone who is not JW in good standing.
How does this fit in with the antiwar stance?
6 AntwortenReligion & Spiritualityvor 2 JahrenJehovah's Witnesses. How amazing is it that the Book of Revelation prophesied JW conventions in the 1920s?
Like WOW that is just incredible! Mm hmm.
Like how the 1922 convention at Cedar Point was just an awesome trumpet blast against Christendom.
The message? Millions now living will never die. And Abraham Issac and Jacob will resurrect in 1925.
What a mighty trumpet blast. Take THAT Christendom! There can be no doubt who has the TRUTH about God.
7 AntwortenReligion & Spiritualityvor 2 JahrenJehovah's Witnesses. Why is it important to examine the qualifications of Bible translators?
Suppose you need to have surgery for a life-threatening illness. You would want to have the utmost confidence in the surgeon, since your life will be in his hands. Would it not be prudent to review his record of experience?
Similarly, it is wise to examine religion carefully. If you belong to a religious organization, you are, in effect, putting your spiritual life in its hands. This includes your prospects for salvation.
14 AntwortenReligion & Spiritualityvor 2 JahrenJehovah's Witnesses. How would an honest hearted truth seeker verify this Watchtower quote?
"The serving of food, the right sort of food, at the proper time was the issue. It had to be according to this that a decision must be rendered by the returned master...Down to 1919 C.E. they had endeavored to give food at the proper time' to the household of faith' or the domestics' of the heavenly Master...but the quality of the food itself was to be considered. In this respect the body of hated, persecuted Christians, who always sought to be faithful slaves of Jesus Christ, met the test."

6 AntwortenReligion & Spiritualityvor 2 JahrenJehovah's Witnesses. Can an angel die?
Jws make an argument that Jesus cannot be God since God cannot die, and Jesus died.
(Let us overlook for now that the Word was God, the Word became flesh, and it was the flesh that died)
However is there any record of an angel dying?
It appears that all the angels there at the beginning of the Bible will still all be there at the conclusion.
Even Satan, a fallen angel, doesn't get killed.
So I Jesus cannot be God because god cannot die, then how can He be an angel if angels never die?
25 AntwortenReligion & Spiritualityvor 2 JahrenJehovah's Witnesses. How does the Great Crowd obtain life?
So I had a chat with a JW who had set up a magazine cart at the local Sunday morning market. He asks if I went to the memorial. I said no we have our own passover meal at home where we have red wine and lamb kebabs, because at John 6:53 you must partake or there is no life in you.
He of course responded that Jesus was only speaking to his disciples who are anointed. (incorrect - he was speaking at the synagogue)
So the next verse where he says "whosoever"? That means the anointed too.
So I ask him "how do the non anointed gain life?" and he says "taking in knowledge".
Ah, John 17:3. So I point out that there he is also speaking to his disciples who are anointed. How do you decide that one applies to you but John 6:53 applies to someone else?
After which he remarked that it certainly was great speaking with me, and seemed to have other business involving standing a bit further away.
So can JWs explain?
5 AntwortenReligion & Spiritualityvor 2 JahrenJehovah's Witnesses. How would an unbiased person come to your 1914 date?
Say a person picks up a Bible and starts to compare it to history to see if the prophecies come true. They are able to do this successfully.
Could this person reach Watchtower doctrine?
How would they know they must argue the date of 607bc for the destruction of Jerusalem?
Why would they think they have to add another interpretation to the prophecy of Daniel?
Can someone just pick up a Bible and become a JW?
8 AntwortenReligion & Spiritualityvor 2 JahrenJehovah's Witnesses. What kind of thought process makes someone conclude that Jesus had appointed them over all his belongings?
For decades the Governing Body of the Jehovah's Witnesses claimed that Jesus had appointed them over all his belongings.
In 2013 they said this never happened.
Why would they think that in the first place?
And if it never happened, why did they proclaim to the world for decades that it did happen?
12 AntwortenReligion & Spiritualityvor 2 JahrenWhy do ex Jehovah's Witnesses refer to themselves as the "Awake class"?
Why would they consider that they were not awake, when they were being indoctrinated by a magazine called "Awake!"?

12 AntwortenReligion & Spiritualityvor 2 JahrenWhy do Jehovah's Witnesses believe Joseph Smith was a prophet of God?
Joseph Smith sent people out door to door.
Jehovah's Witnesses go door to door.
Why do Jehovah's Witnesses believe Joseph Smith was a prophet of God?
12 AntwortenReligion & Spiritualityvor 2 JahrenHow many Jehovah's Witnesses came to Bible Truths before meeting any Witnesses?
There is one JW that claims to have "figured out" the truth about God and had questions about the Trinity doctrine" which are almost identical to Watchtower questions, 2 years before meeting any JWs.
He never says exactly how he did all this figuring, but I'm sure he is perfectly honest about it.
Yet the Watchtower says
"We all need help to understand the Bible, and we cannot find the Scriptural guidance we need outside the "faithful and discreet slave" organization,"
(Watchtower, Feb. 15, 1981, p. 19)
8 AntwortenReligion & Spiritualityvor 2 JahrenJehovah's Witnesses. What is the name of this logical fallacy?
Say a person asks a question about how the Governing Body could be the "faithful and discreet slave" appointed by Jesus in 1919.
You respond by labeling the asker as an apostate, or an opposer.
What is the name of this logical fallacy?
"FALLACY NUMBER 1
Attacking the Person
This type of fallacy attempts to disprove or discredit a perfectly valid argument or statement by making an irrelevant attack on the person presenting it.
Consider an example from the Bible. Jesus Christ once endeavored to enlighten others regarding his coming death and resurrection. These were new and difficult concepts for his listeners. But rather than weigh the merits of Jesus’ teachings, some attacked Jesus himself, saying: “He has a demon and is mad. Why do you listen to him?”—John 10:20; compare Acts 26:24, 25.
How easy it is to label someone “stupid,” “crazy,” or “uninformed” when he or she says something we don’t want to hear. A similar tactic is to attack the person with a subtle dose of innuendo. Typical examples of this are: “If you really understood the matter, you wouldn’t have that point of view” or, “You only believe that because you’re told to believe it.”
But while personal attacks, subtle and not so subtle, may intimidate and persuade, never do they disprove what has been said. So be alert to this fallacy!"

5 AntwortenReligion & Spiritualityvor 2 JahrenWhy do Jehovah's witnesses take pride in preaching about the teaching of Jesus in Matthew 5:5 and 2 Peter 3:13?
Proverbs 16:18
Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.
Proverbs 8:13
The fear of the Lord is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.
Proverbs 11:2
When pride cometh, then cometh shame: but with the lowly is wisdom
Proverbs 13:10
Only by pride cometh contention: but with the well advised is wisdom.
Proverbs 29:23
A man's pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit.
3 AntwortenReligion & Spiritualityvor 2 JahrenJehovah's Witnesses. Which of your beliefs will need to be further "clarified"?
I have asked this question before. Last time all the JWs that answered said that now they have the truth and nothing will need to be changed.
Since then -
- generation has been changed to mean overlappers.
- the appointment over all Jesus belongings has been moved from 1919 to a future event.
- the faithful and discreet slave is no longer understood to be all anointed but only the governing body when they meet.
- Gog of Magog has been changed from Satan to a coalition of nations.
There are too many to list. Here are just the ones the Watchtower will admit to -
https://wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/1200277174
So of course, some of these were so obviously false they had to be changed. Yet when people such as myself pointed this out all JWs argued me and labelled me opposer etc. Yet no JW could pick out any belief that would need to be further clarified.
Now there are some obvious beliefs that will need to be changed in the future sine they are ridiculously in error. And I will point these out and JWs will argue until they're changed, then act as if it was what they believed all along.
But can any JW pinpoint any beliefs that will need to be further clarified?
2 AntwortenReligion & Spiritualityvor 3 JahrenJehovah's Witnesses. Why is your Governing Body member lying to the world on this video?
David Splane says that Fred Franz, baptized in 1913, "as one of the Lord's appointed in 1914 he saw the sign and he understood what the sign meant." We can prove from Watchtower publications that in 1914 no one in the Watchtower organization saw any sign in 1914 and understood what it meant. In 1914 all Watchtower publications and followers were proclaiming that Jesus presence dated from 1874. David Splane is not telling the truth here.
Surely lies make Jehovah sad. Why can't they be faithful and discreet?
And let's not even go there about the whole overlapping generation being another lie to prop up a failing doctrinal lie.
Honestly, how can you trust these people?
8 AntwortenReligion & Spiritualityvor 3 JahrenJehovah's Witnesses. How many generations have there been since 1914?
The generation that saw 1914 was called the Interbellum Generation.
The World War 2 generation was called the Greatest Generation.
Next was the Silent Generation.
Then we have the Baby Boomers.
After them came Generation X.
Then was Generation Y, also known as Generation Next or Millennials.
Or are these all really just one big generation known as overlappers? Really?
2 AntwortenReligion & Spiritualityvor 3 JahrenJehovah's Witnesses. How do they count the generations in Matthew 1?
17 So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations.
Wait a minute. Some of these generations overlap. Isn't there like only 4 or 5 overlapping generations there?
Either inspired writer Matthew got it wrong, or God's Organization the Faithful and Discreet Slave got it wrong.
6 AntwortenReligion & Spiritualityvor 3 JahrenJehovah's Witnesses. How can you tell if the Governing Body errs in doctrinal matters?
"The Governing Body is neither inspired nor infallible. Therefore, it can err in doctrinal matters or in organizational direction. In fact, the Watch Tower Publications Index includes the heading “Beliefs Clarified,” which lists adjustments in our Scriptural understanding since 1870. Of course, Jesus did not tell us that his faithful slave would produce perfect spiritual food."
Watchtower 2017 Feb p.26
It seems as if no JW can discern if their Governing Body does err in doctrinal matters.
In fact, you can point it out to them and they will argue you ... until the Governing Body get new light on the matter. Then they will argue the for the understanding, whether or not it errs again.
Yet since they definitely do err, why can't a JW correctly discern the truth?
