What is the chances of it being convicted as a felony?

If you get arrested and charged with a felony, do they hold you in jail and release you after a couple of hours with a citation?

Or do you have to sit and wait to appear in court the next morning?

If the cops caught you with a small bag of weed (about $20 which is less than an ounce) and charge you with Intent to distribute, can't I go to court and claim of a wrong charge and get off?

I have court on Feb. 3 to answer the charge of possession with the intent to distribute marijuana after the officers searched the car. I was riding in the backseat and it was my friends vehicle. My friend had a lot of weed in her backpack which I was unaware of and it was in the front seat, but the officers did find a small bag of weed in the backseat, what will happen to me?

I don't know what my friend was intending to do with it. Will the judge let me go? College student who has never been arrested before.

No warrant was issued to me and they did not ask for my permission to come search my room. Can my case be thrown out even though they found an illegal substance in my room without my consent of a search or seizure?
