It's been awhile since i've played my Sony PSP and want to update/upgrade it to play latest games.

I have a PSP-2006 Slim with a 5.00M33-6 Custom Firmware installed inside, and also with a recovery mode by Pressing R button at boot up is quite old(M33 of CFW 3.xx).

So, what is the latest and most stable custom firmware released today??

Mind if you tell me step-by-step on how to install it?(or maybe you could link me to a friendly dummy site with some pics on installing it)

And how do i update its recovery mode?

P.S. i don't want to brick it because i don't own a pandora battery

I've got some cleaned files with formats of .iso .mds/.mdf which file somewhat recorded on CD and tried installing without fail(via .iso and .mds/.mdf). also i got some video files here with .mkv and .avi file format.

so what do you think is the best checksum file to go for each type of format?why is that?
