  • Do the words "Noodly Appendage" make you laugh?

No matter what the question or answer says, if I see the words Noodly Appendage, I laugh my @ss off.

I just wondered if it was just me?

  • Can both really work??

Well, in light of a couple or question today, and a couple of answers, I figured I would pose this question.

First, in an earlier answer, a christian eluded to the belief that Freemasonry was linked to satan, paganism, the occult, and sorcery. And, according to this same answer, christians, at least "true ones" would not want to be associated with this organization.

Now, another question made the statement that the founding fathers of this country intended to build a christian nation.

Now, it is a known fact most of the founding fathers were Freemasons.

So, are we really supposed to believe that a group of men with ties to, basically, the occult, intended on building a christian nation?

Just wondered, cause that kind of strikes me as odd.

  • Here's a theoretical question...?

For this, for the purposes of this question, all of us atheist must concede god did create everything. What would have happened if Adam had not have been lonely, needing a counterpart? If that happened, god would have never create woman. I just wonder what would have happened.

No real reason behind this question, just sort of came to me.

  • If you went into the woods and shouted obscenities at god.....?

And, there is no god there to hear you shout them. Did you really shout anything at all??

Sorry, I know it's a wast of 5 points, but the question about shouting obscenities at god was so stupid, I couldn't resist.

And hey, someone out there is going to get 10 points when I pick a best answer. And, I will get three of the five points back.

Also, I make a motion that we need to add to the drinking game. Any questions that are just plain stupid should require a shot.

  • How did I get "Fans"??

Ok, I keep getting emails that so and so has added me to their whatever. Well, I didn't really pay it much attention. Then, I was looking at my Y!A profile, and see that I have "Fans". So, what exactly does that do.

Subquestion: If I add someone as a contact, do I become their "fan".

Between this and the Appearing/ Disappearing "Top Contributor" badges, I am lost. How can one seriously answer questions with all this other stuff on your mind.

And, now that I know I have fans, I am nervous about walking around in public. If one of my fans approaches for an autograph, am I obligated to give one. Do my fans have meetings, a website, or anything like that. Are they selling merchandise about me. And, if they are, aren't I entitled to some of the profits made off of official "TattMan" gear. Should I look into trademarking myself?

    Confusing.

  • Forget the number 23, what's up with the number 10?

    I don't know what to do, I am surrounded by the number 10. It's everywhere;

We use 10% or our brains.

You have to go 10 yards to get a first down.

David Letterman has a Top Ten List.

I have ten fingers and ten toes.

When two teams are playing basketball, there are 10 people on the court.

Yikes, I looked on the floor and there was a dime laying there.

This surely has to mean something. It must mean there is some entity out there making all this happen.

I know it's a waste of five point, but today is Monday, and it is one of those days.

...but Monday is spelled with 6 letters. In four days, it will be the weekend, and if you add four to six, whoa, you guessed it, you get 10!!!

  • Is it possible for people of religion to understand "logic"??

It seems to me that most(not all) people of religion don't understand basic logic.

You keep hearing the proverbial "prove god doesn't exist" question. Then you see the answers to that equating to "you can't prove a negative".

But, and I may be way off, the way I understand it is like this. The absence of proof in a positive assertion is the evidence to prove the negative. Basically, if there is no evidence proving something exists, that is the proof that is doesn't exist.

So, concering this issue, the lack of legitimate(meaning more that a book and people's faith) evidence proving god's existance is the proof he does not exist.

If I am way off on this understanding of logic, someone please let me know.

  • Do you think this is true?

This just came to me, and I am not sure where to post this. But, given I mainly answer in this section, I am interested what others in this section think.

I just answered a question. By the time I answered, my answer was placed on the second page of answers. Do you read all the answers you receive to a question? The reason I am asking is, I wonder if there is any correlation between how close your answer is to the first answers and whether or not your answer gets picked as best answer. When I saw how many answers were before mine, and even though I felt my answer was a very good one, I figured being so far down the list, it likely will not get picked.

I wonder if there is any truth to that? Why this thought popped into my head, who knows.

  • So this is how it works?

Talk about your ultimate "Pyramid Scheme". Wow. So, all I have to do is create a god, write a book, say the god I created "inspired" the words in the book, people will take it as "law", and then give me money to get up early on Sunday and come listen to me talk? Amazing.

So, we need to start a committee, and get on this. There's money to be made here people. I don't know why more people aren't doing this.

From what I have seen, you can even say you are the "second coming", be a Puerto Rican ex-con, and people will just throw there money at you.

So, who wants to start a new religion with me? I don't even care what rules we make, as long as the money is coming in.

  • Uh oh, Anyone seen my "Top Contributor" badge?

It seems I had no idea why I had one in the first place, and now, I have no idea why they took it away from me. I don't know if I can go on.

    I must seek counseling!!

Anyone no what it takes to get one of those badges? Subquestion: Anyone know how you get it taken away?

  • Read Any Good Books?

If we could refrain from saying "the bible", "case for christ", etc. I have read them. And yes, I am still an atheist. I am mainly talking about fiction here as well. I read( or study/ research) different philosophy books all the time. I have read machiavelli, nietzche. locke, socrates, and many more.

I have read all the Dan Brown books. I am also a big fan of James Rollins, but am running out of his books to read. His books follow along the same lines as Dan Brown with "secret societies, riddles, codes, etc.". I enjoy these types of books a great deal.

Just wondered what people were reading out there.

  • Who's with me(Thanks Midge for the idea!!)??

Midge actually gets credit for this idea. If it weren't for her question about community service people having to evangelize to people, it would nto have come to me. This is my "flux capacitor" moment!

We atheist just start a mass evangelism for christianity. I'm talking the whole door to door thing. There would be only two rules. You have to make everything you preach about up on the spot, and nothing you said in the previous home may be mentioned in the current home you are preaching to.

    So, thanks Midge.

  • Is the concept of "Free Will" just one big copout?

Seriously think about this. So, god is supposed to be omnipotent(all powerful), omnibenevolent(all loving), and omniscient(all knowing). So, the "one true god" created all we see before us, is responsible for the existance of everyone and everything, and 80% of the world does not beleive in him. Why would an all powerful god allow this. So, when posed with this question, we get "oh he gave us the free will to deny his existance." And, why would anyone, or any"thing" do something like that? And, if he did "grant us" free will, did he know the majority of the earth would use it? If he didn't, I guess there goes the omniscient part.

I just think it is funny that 4 out of 5 people on this planet do not believe in the christian god. And the only answer they can give is "free will".

If that is truly the case, and god does exist, he's an idiot.

    Atheist

  • Can Someone Drive Me Home??

Sorry, but there has been a crazy amount of "Atheist in foxhole" questions in about the last 20 minutes, and I don't think I should be driving at this point.

Also, I am out of Tequila, anyone out there have something they would like to share.

I am behind on the shots. I was four behind when I started this question, so I am sure by now it is up to 6 or 7.

    Cheers everyone.

  • Will there be a memo?

When the Messiah comes, how will we know which one it is. According to the Jews, they are still awaiting the first coming. Christians are waiting for the second coming. Seems this could be confusing to a lot of people if there isn't a memo, or some sort of mass email or something.

    Just wondered.

  • Did anyone else get violated?

I posted a response to Mahal's "challenge". This morning, I had a email from him telling me my question was considered "at the high school level", and things of that nature. Then, I also was informed by Y!A that my "question" wasn't actually a question. I guess I didn't word it in the form of a question(I didn't know this was Jeopardy). Just wondered if any other responders to his challenge got violated as well?

(Hope this one isn't violated for not being a question?) Maybe if I include enough ????'s, it will be considered one? Who know?

  • I Didn't Get the Memo!?

I did not know we were supposed to take shots each time a Pascal's Wager question is asked. Was there a memo? Did I miss it? How do I get on that mailing list?

More importantly, does it have to be vodka? I too would prefer tequila or whiskey. I have some Patron or Old Wellar's 107 Proof Whiskey. Will that be ok?
