I have developed a sudden allergy to nickel and now my wedding ring gives me a rash. I know it is real gold as I picked it out myself, but have read that a very small percentage of 14k gold is typically nickel.

I was reading that you can have your ring coated in various things to help your skin from getting a rash. I read that you can try coating it in clear nail polish, have your ring coated in pure gold, or something called Rhodium.

Does anyone have any experience with having your rings coated for an allergy? What is the best thing to do, how long does it last, is having it coated expensive, and is it hard to find a jeweler that will do it? Thanks!

My husband has never really played with the Magic cards he's had for about 7 years and told me that I could sell them or donate them if I wanted. I sorted them all by the deck and determined that most of them aren't worth much of anything, but came across one card that was different. The card is from the Invasion deck and is an Island card. There are others in the deck that have identical pictures and text as this particular card, but this one has a silver shooting star on it. Any ideas why? Does it make it the card special or is it just a thing that they randomly put on cards?

I am looking for a recipe for a pudding cake but all of the recipes out there call for a box of cake mix. I am using a box of banana pudding but would like the cake to be made from scratch, like basic white cake.

Anyone have a recipe to share? Or can anyone tell me about how much pudding to add to the cake mix if using a basic white cake recipe? I'm making a 2 layer 8 inch round cake. Thanks much!

I took in a pregnant stray cat - her kittens are now 3 weeks and 1 day old (and so cute). I would like to try to get the kittens interested in food so we can slowly start the weaning process, but am not sure how to do it. I tried yesterday, letting them smell the food and then putting a tiny tiny bit on their noses - which they ate but still weren't interested in any more food. Should I just keep trying every day? It seemed to be a good time to start as they are starting to walk around and trying to wrestle each other. I am using premium canned kitten food.

Also, at what point after giving birth can a momma cat be spayed?

There are a couple stray cats that my neighbors and I care for. We have gotten one of them fixed, but the girl got pregnant before we could catch her for the fix-and-release program appointment. She is getting quite large in the belly (normally very skinny) and has been begging for food a lot over the past 2 weeks. I could feel the kittens moving yesterday, and she has been starting to lick her privates more. She trusts me the most, so I am going to bring her in to have the kittens.

I am not sure when I should bring her in to make sure she's got a nice place to have her kittens. I'm not entirely sure when she might have gotten pregnant. Any suggestions as to when she may give birth would be great; also info about how long she should have to 'nest' before birth.

I am hosting a very small brunch this weekend and was thinking of making it Southern Style. I know that I'm making grits, eggs and fruit salad of some sort. Any other ideas or recipes - aside from grits, biscuits and gravy? That's all I can seem to find in internet searches. Doesn't even necessarily need to be breakfast or lunch items, just good stuff that goes together well. Thanks!

I have had acne for 18 years - it started when I was about 10 and has never gone away. I've tried almost everything from A-Z. Doctors have prescribed me antibiotics which I do not wish to take long term, and given me creams that make my skin burn & peel. I have tried almost everything they sell on TV and everything you can buy over the counter.

If anyone has NATURALLY and SUCCESSFULLY gotten rid of, reduced or controlled their acne, I would love to hear about it. I am not interested in buying any more 'cures'. They do not work. I am interested in natural ways to reduce my acne at home; without doctors, pills, skin burning creams, monthly shipments of cleansers that do not work, or ridiculous books that claim you can clear it up in 3 days by eating only one food then giving yourself and enema (YUCK!). I am looking for supplements, techniques, foods, etc. - a long term way, a way to actually make it better.

I hope there is someone out there who has figured it out!

I keep seeing owls in the daytime and I find this very strange. I live in the San Francisco Bay Area. It really has been in the last year that I've seen them. Yesterday, I saw one sleeping on a streetlight in broad daylight, then one sleeping on an overhead sign on a very busy freeway. When I have to drive thru wine country are about twice a month, I see them sleeping on power lines - all in the middle of the day.

I am really curious as to why I see them in the daytime. I always thought that owls hid out in trees or dark areas while they slept to avoid predators.

I am looking for a new pizza dough recipe - something that isn't the traditional:

Yeast & water

Flour

salt

oil

I make pizza every month or two, my family prefers homemade to chain pizza or even local restaurant pizzas. While the old standard is a good recipe, I'd like to try something different. Seems that every single pizza dough recipe I get tastes the same, no matter how you switch around or alter the amounts of the main ingredients.

Any ideas? Your favorites? Tried and true recipes? Thanks!

I am going to two Halloween parties this weekend and am going as a cavelady. I have all of my costume parts, but want to put dirt smears on my face and legs. How can I do this without using actual dirt? Thanks!

I accidentally washed a new pair of blue jeans with my nice bathroom towels. The towels are green, white and purple (striped), and now they have this nasty blue discoloration. I've tried Clorox 2 non-chlorine bleach but that didn't help. Any ideas? I love these towels and they don't make them anymore :(
