  • Am I the only one that has used Google?

It seems like about half the questions on Y! Answers are things that could have been found on Google in about a third of the time that it took to type the question on here. Driving directions from New York to Boston? Really? You don't think there's another way to figure that out?

In all seriousness, do most people not realize that things like Google exist? Did it not get as much publicity as I thought it did?

  • Do You Have to Take the spot in Oklahoma Immediately after the AT-SAT test?

I've applied to take the AT-SAT test for the general public announcement which closes on 31 July. I'm hoping to hear back and take the test obviously. I really have two questions:

    1) How do they give you a test date? Is it a set date that you MUST be in this city, or do you have a few to choose from?

    2) If you pass, do you have to go to Oklahoma right away, or can you tie up your loose ends and go later? I read that the test scores are valid for 3 years. So does that mean you can pass the test, and then start in Oklahoma anytime during the following 3 years?

    Thanks in advance!

  • Where can I have a symbolic wedding in the UK?

Ok, bear with me. My fiancee and her family live in the UK. I live in the US. Her visa to the US says we HAVE TO get married in the US (legally). That just means we have to sign the papers here.

However, since her family can't come, we want to have a CEREMONY in the UK. Where can we get this done?

The ceremony cannot be legally binding in ANY way, and it can't be a renewal of vows because we won't be married yet. Just symbolic and nothing more.

Any ideas are greatly appreciated and I would love some links if you have them. Thanks very much in advance!

  • Can my fiancee visit the US while I-129F is processing?

We have an I-129F in the works to eventually become a K1 Fiancee visa. I assume that there comes a point where she has to stay in the UK until the K1 Visa is approved, but what is that point? Can she visit while this petition is processing?

Please provide a reputable source. Obviously a lot is riding on this for me :)

  • Why have we started blaming political parties for everything?

Am I the only one that feels our country might be a nicer place to live if we stopped blaming everything we could on a political party?

The world hates us because Republicans are rednecks. There are too many immigrants because Democrats open the doors.

It just won't stop. When did we stop looking at individuals and start looking at only their party affiliation?

Instead of ever trying to fix a problem anymore, politicians put all of their effort into finding a way to USE the problem to make the other party look bad.

Our schools suck: Democrats respond "This never would happen if the evil Republicans weren't so bent on war."

Terror suspect gets caught: Republicans respond "Good thing Democrats aren't running anything or we'd all be singing bin Laden's praises!"

So my question is: Am I just naive? It seems to me that this is either a new trend or it's getting a lot worse. Someone older can answer, has it always been this bad? Will it ever fix itself?

  • Why is it so popular in the UK to hate the US?

I've been to the UK multiple times. From my observation, every complaint I hear about the US is equally present in the UK. People are just as materialistic. They don't know any more about the world than Americans do.

So why is it so popular over there to blame all the world's problems on the US? The UK hasn't done anything more toward solving climate change.

For a country that calls us isolationist, I see far more multi-culturalism in the US than I ever have in the UK. When will people just realize that we're different countries that have been allies for nearly 200 years?

So I guess my question is, why do you guys really hate us so much? And before you answer, ask yourself: Is what you're about to say also true of the UK?
