I'm happily married. I have the best husband ever. We have a 3 year old son. We also have a 2 year old daughter. I'm a stay at home mom and I love it. Life is good.

  • Cloth diaper cover over undies for potty training?

We're currently going into the potty training time right now and I had a friend tell me she uses a cloth diaper cover over the undies when she goes out.

She uses the Bummis Super Whisper Wrap. She also said that the Baby Beehinds PUL Wrap Cover would be a good one.

I am so confused! All I know is I want something thin, but slightly absorbent. I don't want actual potty training cloth waterproof underwear if possible. I'd rather just use his regular undies and just put something over it in case we don't make it in time, not necessarily to hold a whole bladder full of urine.

Thanks so much in advance if anyone has any advice on these covers or has a suggestion for any others! I'm a newbie when it comes to cloth!

  • Debate on 3 yr old son's birthday gift. Opinions?

Our son will be 3 in a week. His party is in 2.5 weeks (due to us going out of town for spring break). We are debating on his gift. He has a power wheels four wheeler, but his knees are almost hitting the handle bars now... he loves that thing. We have been debating getting him a 2 seater power wheels (as he has an almost 2 year old sister too). We also have been thinking of getting him a 12" bike. (Which I know is cheaper, but either is fine financially). I think he'd love and do great with both... but I don't want to get both for him... I just feel like that's a lot for a 3 year old. However I think both would make great summer toys... grrr... lol.

We also thought of doing the bike for his birthday and the power wheels for the kids both for Christmas (as we live in SC and the weather isn't horrid here like back home in MI).

    Any thoughts/suggestions are great! TY!

  • Backless shoes for 2-3 year old?

I love crocs. Ugly, yes. Comfortable, OH YES! lol. I have a 2.5 year old and a 1 year old and I am all over comfort. Anywho... my 2.5 year old son has recently been wanting crocs like mommy. It's too late in the summer for me to fork out $30 for a pair that he would only get to use the next couple weeks, cause he'll outgrow them by next summer of course...

I just bought myself some fleece lined backless ones, and they have them in the same color/size for him!

My question is, how well do you think he'd walk in these? He's an EXCELLENT walker and runner, but I've never tried him in something backless.

Anyone have experience with backless shoes on a younger kiddo?

  • Question about walking?

Did anyone's child seem to rebel against walking and show almost no interest and then just take off one day?

My son took steps for, I swear like, 3 months before he walked... My daughter is now 13 months and has taken 1 step on a couple occasions (when we try to have her do it between us back and forth, but never has it been initiated by her)...

Just curious if anyone's seen this before. If I go by my son's clock (which I can't do cause I KNOW all babies are different and do things on their own time), then she won't be walking til at least 16 months.

  • Baby will NOT take unassisted steps...?

My daughter is 12.5 months old and she will pull up, walk along furniture, walk holding my hands, stand up without pulling up and stand unassisted, but she will NOT take even 1-2 steps unassisted. She's been doing these other things for a while now. She even pulled up all by herself holding nothing and "danced" bouncing up and down at the knees in place the other day... even if I bribe her with her favorite snacks she will just collapse and crawl over... anyone else ever go through this? I know all babies are different, but she's almost 13 months and won't even walk 2 steps from the couch to the chair... She also had a few developmental issues in the beginning, which resulted in surgery, so I just want to make sure she's still on track here progress wise! Thanks in advance!

  • 5 days late with period?

I am NEVER late. I have always had a 28 day cycle since I got my period, oh, like 10 years ago... I am not on BC, haven't been in years. My husband and I have 2 children and he had a vasectomy. He just got his second semen analysis done and he is swimmer free. I took a HPT and it was negative. He's my only partner. His vasectomy was over 7 months ago and all his checks have been free. I know people say stress can cause you to be late... but I am not stressed, and even when I was stressed, I was never off by more than 1 day... any clue what could be going on?! I'm 100% sure on my dates, no doubts there. I should have started on 6/13... making an appt with my doc in the morning, but thought I would ask here as there are some helpful intelligent people online and I can't fall asleep.

And just to add... I've already had many regular periods since my last child... it's most definitely not still adjusting, not nursing, no IUD, nothing whatsoever... no medications or anything. Life was totally normal... for years... now all of a sudden 5 days late...???

Oh yeah... I am only 23. Shouldn't be menopause. ;)

  • How do I get yahoo IM out of my email?

I sign into my email now and it signs my yahoo IM on through email. People start talking to me, and I don't want to be signed onto messenger unless I sign onto the actual messenger. I looked under settings from my email and my messenger and can't find anything about it. THANKS IN ADVANCE. :)

  • What kind of bluetooth earpiece would work with my phone?

I don't have a clue about bluetooth ear pieces. I want one that recharges, (I can buy a charger separately, that is no issue), and I would like it to be a good one with no wind noise that picks up my voice well, etc...

I have an AT&T Samsung Propel A767... it says it has bluetooth 2.0, but all the earpieces I am finding say like 1.1 or 1.2 on them. I don't need top of the line (but I do not want crap), I only plan to use it on the occasion shopping trip or car ride. Thank you SO much! I was looking at this one:

    http://www.motorola.com/motoinfo/product/details.j...

Would that work? If so, why does it say "compatible with 1.2- and 1.1-enabled mobile phones" if mine says 2.0?

I'm really not an idiot, I just don't know how these things work.

The woman at AT&T said any bluetooth would work with my phone, but she didn't say it with confidence.

    Any input/advice/recommendations appreciated!

  • How many colors does the AT&T Samsung Propel display?

On the SAMSUNG website, it says the AT&T Propel has 65K colors... on the AT&T website it says 262K colors... Which is correct???

  • AT&T phones. Samsung Propel Reviews?

What can you say about this phone? I've reviewed the heck out of it and I am considering it, as well as the Motorola Z9... Can you set a ringtone to differentiate between contacts? How's the clarity of calls? How's the speakerphone? How is the battery life? How is the display? Thanks!

  • Debating between 2 cell phones...?

So I am getting a new phone and a new plan/provider Friday. I am debating between a few phones...

I like small phones, and clear sounds and reception are important to me. Also battery life and camera. I am not going to use it for internet, just a phone and texting.

    1. Blackberry Pearl 8110: I like that it has an organizer... as my daughter just had cranio surgery 3 weeks ago I could so easily keep track of appts... but I heard that it sometimes deletes contacts and call logs... That does NOT appeal to me... but would this be an issue when I wouldn't use the internet?

    2. Sony Ericsson W580i Walkman: It's got a great battery life as well as the BB, even better actually... but I won't really use it for music... I've also heard it can be a sluggish-slow phone... which I am not fond of. The one I have now has such a delay it irritates the heck outta me... and no organizer, which isn't a need, but it would be handy.

It really sucks that they even have reviews online... (Ok, so I absolutely love reviewing phones, but I hate that there are bad things about every phone reviewed, you know)?

    Thanks for any input. :)

  • Do they make something to "childproof" a guitar from de-tuning?

My husband plays guitar and so does our 20 month old son... (lol). Well, they enjoy playing with each other, but my husband gets frustrated when our son turns the knobs and de-tunes the guitar a few times a day. Do they make anything to put over the knob things to avoid this? I would ask him, but I am thinking for a Christmas gift.

  • HOW do you get baby to take a bottle?

    Here's my previous post:

    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=ApG0....

A few people just said simple to give her a bottle... ok... SHE WILL NOT TAKE A BOTTLE. I tried 2 kinds... actually... 3-4 cause I tried some of my nieces... my daughter refuses. She SCREAMS like I am killing her when I put the silicon/latex nipple to her mouth. She won't even try. She has gone about 12 hours without eating as well and I had to buckle down and nurse her from my almost empty breast... she ate and was still hungry, screaming her head off cause I was empty, but she will NOT take a bottle...

HOW do I get her to take a bottle... I have tried everything. Including leaving and letting daddy do it... I have tried breastmilk in the bottle, faster flow nipples, a few types of formula... I can't afford to buy more formula and more bottles... I seriously tried 4-5 formulas (bad to switch, I know, but she won't take anything), and several bottles and several people.

They say babies won't starve themselves but my daughter went a whole day once without peeing and was starving and STILL wouldn't take a bottle... even rocking her around with music and shushing putting it to her mouth, and even faking her out like it was my breast...

    HELP!

  • Please help me! *Sobs* Miserable baby!!!?

I am in serious need of help. My life is so chaotic. I am about to collapse. I have a 20 month old son and a 4 month old daughter. I nursed my son until I my milk diminished due to my 2nd pregnancy. I had no issues. I never had to supplement until my pregnancy.

This time is a whole new ball game. It used to take about 10-15 minutes JUST to latch my daughter. She would unlatch, and it would take another 10-15 minutes to relatch. It was awful. And all this with a toddler is just frustrating.

Now I have no issues with latching, but she doesn't seem to enjoy eating much... and lately it's really bad. She doesn't seem to be getting any hindmilk at all. She is TICKED when my let down is done, and will just scream and scream, even if I express any in her mouth... She wants it all free flowing.

She also will NOT take a bottle. I have tried 2 bottles, and I tried letting daddy try. She would rather starve herself than eat out of a bottle. I have tried breastmilk and formula. She is so small.

At 4 months old she is about 11 pounds. At 2 months old she was 10 pounds. (Born at 5 pounds 14 ounces). She was doing O.K. through my efforts up until recently, and now just O.K. has turned to a nightmare. I need help.

I know there is something wrong with my daughter. She is so fussy. The doctor said colic. She used to sleep ok, but it was just tough to get her to sleep. Now she sleeps GREAT and just about all night... but all day she cries. She will smile, but she quickly cries. It is like she wants to be happy, but she just can't be for some reason. I have asked about acid reflux, but the doc said no more than once.

I have thought maybe she was sensitive to lactose so for the past MONTH I have had no dairy... it's not helping. Maybe she has a milk allergy? I have no idea. I am at my wit's end though. I have no idea if you guys can even help or not.

I can never put her down without her screaming like someone is killing her. SOMETHING IS JUST WRONG. Maybe her stomach isn't right? I don't know. She only poops once like every 10 days as well... and has about 4 wet diapers a day. My doc does not seem concerned.

I don't care what I have to do to get her to plump up some, but I am just concerned. My milk supply is also starting to fail, as she hasn't made my milk let down much lately.

And as I said, I have a VERY CHAOTIC 20 month old son, so a lot of my options are limited too. I cannot just go pump every 2 hours or anything, although I try when I can... my daughter also screams her head of when I put her down.

I don't really know what I am asking. I know she needs to eat more, and I know there is something wrong. I guess what I am asking is maybe if you have any advice??? I've been asking all around, and hearing how normal she is... me and daddy and my inlaws (my family lives 20 hours away and never sees her), all agree that something isn't right. But no one will help me. :(

    Thanks in advance.

*I have a doc appt for her on 12/9 and I am am going to demand some kind of solution. I don't just make things up about my kids as I have seen people do. There is something wrong.

  • Does colic ever REALLY go away?

My daughter is just about 3 months old now and she is still super colicky. It's wearing the heck outta me. I have talked to her doc who is awesome and we've limited it down to colic, so please don't suggest it being something else like allergies, bad gas, reflux, etc. And I have tried EVERYTHING to soothe her. I have bought and read more books on colic than I probably should have... dang it... Books-A-Million loves me!

What I want to know, is does it REALLY go away? I just really don't want to have a fussy little toddler, and child all growing up. Ugh. My son was always and is still always so happy.

    Thanks in advance for answers.

  • HELP! 2 month old barely nursing and won't take a bottle.?

My 2 month old will nurse about 2 minutes and stop... The ped ruled out reflux and I trust him 100%, he's EXCELLENT. She also won't take a bottle. Not of breastmilk, nor formula. I have tried a few different nipples and a few kinds of formula. I am a huge advocate of breastfeeding. My son was solely breastfed... so even trying formula was a huge step for me. I really think she has some kind of an eating disorder of some kind. She will get maybe 2-3 decent feedings a day... the rest is a struggle. Any advice? She is a fullterm baby weighing only 10 pounds exactly at 2.5 months old... the ped seems to think she is growing just fine, and that it's colic causing her to have an upset stomach. (She is rather colicky). She was also only 5lbs 14oz at birth so she has gained... my son was well over double his birth weight at 2 months though... I just want her to eat and be happy about it. HELP!

  • New neighbors, how to break lease?

We have some new upstairs neighbors, they're a little on the heavy side and the floors squeak terribly. They wake up my 1 y/o son every night between 10:00 and 11:00 and again every morning between 6:30 and 7:00. I don't blame the new tenants, while maybe they could keep it a little quieter, it's the creaky floors that are the real problem. It literally sounds like they are stomping around above my son. The neighbors before these neighbors were still heard, but just BARELY. They actually sounded like they were walking people, rather than trampling elephants. If I broke my lease it'd cost almost $2000, but is there any way I could present this as unlivable conditions? Make audio recordings in the morning or something?
