i listen to mostly 'indie' music that isn't really dance party friendly, per se. I am having a party in my home and i don't know what to play. it is painful for me at other parties to listen to the top 40 **** that is overprocessed. i usually just don't dance. but about 2/3 of the people coming listen to what i do so should i just put what i want (i'll make it good and danceable, like m.i.a. and das racist,major lazer, matt and kim, yeasayer) or do i put all the crap like 'omg' and 'california gurls' to appease the attendees? basically i know people will respond to the top 40 stuff as i have seen at other parties. but will it be okay if they don't know the songs? i am in such a conundrum, as music is like number 1 importance at a party. and food haha but that's easy. thanks!

I am a sophomore in high school but a lot of these ideas with minimalism I align with so I was wondering ... how it's possible. I'm not sure to call it temptation or a constant and steady source of money.. but idk. Your thoughts?

I have been wanting to for a while. Usually I wear a weave. When I went to my hairdressser and told her I might want to go natural I was met with universal derision in the salon. But I do not like having this fake hair that is so obviously not representative of my ethnicity. I would liike to wear my hair short or in an afro but I have a round face with round cheeks and I am not very thin either. Is this a bad idea?

I realy want to start shopping more ethically because of the horrible things I recently read about sweatshop labor and general economic exploitation noe-colonialism etc.

If I purchase only used clothes(thrift stores and garage sales) and if I buy new it's either made in America or fair trade(I will be sure to look into the brands) is that better? Or is used clothes no different?

I went to a garage sale and bought this really cool vintage looking bag that has that polyester leather look (pleather?) and it just seems a bit sketchy and is rather pungent. Also there is a mysterious white splotch on it, would alcohol be appropriate? Vinegar? And this is in reference to the outside.

Just musing one day and I wrote this down, it's pretty raw.

I want one really really badly but they're really hard to find! If I go to craigslist are you supposed to meet up with the people (it sounds so sketchy). Partly due to my parents' requests, partly due to "these tough economic times" I have decided to take on a career in law. I was wondering how the whole system works with undergrad and med school. Cause I'm really interested in going to a liberal arts school like Amherst or Wesleyan but is it like med school where i have to major in pre law or something like that? I'm so confused!

I'm into indie but I like most things except for country and gangster rap. But not all rap!

Just whatever I guess, it will be different than what I listen to anyway.
