  • How to get a new Puerto Rican birth certificate without a drivers license or ID?

All Puerto Rican birth certificates before 2010 are invalid.

A valid birth certificate is necessary to obtain a drivers license or state ID card but you can't get a new birth certificate without valid ID.

Is there any way to get around this?

  • What is a good website with Spanish kids songs and stories so that I can read to a child.?

I just want any simple fairy tales or short stories or songs that I can just read off the page to a baby. I want to read out loud to her so that she can get used to another language but most of the links I find are for books on Amazon or for youtube videos. I would just talk to her in Spanish but it would flow better if I could read it instead since I haven't really spoken Spanish in a while and I keep forgetting words I want to use.

I would really like it if I could get like brothers grimm kind of fairy tales translated in Spanish.

Or if it's youtube videos then it would be great if it had lyrics or subtitles.

I would also like to try speaking to the baby in other languages, are there any good website for translating large portions of text and also have a feature that reads it back so that you can get the accent right?

Any help would be cool. Thanks.

  • Acer Aspire 5732Z motherboard problem, Can it be fixed or should I buy a new laptop?

The only problem with my laptop is that it doesn't charge. I replaced the charger port twice and it works for a week or two then stops working. Turns out the problem is the motherboard. Can this be fixed, should I buy a new motherboard or a new laptop?

Where would I go about finding a new motherboard if I wanted to buy one?

  • Can thinking about self mutilation cause similar calming effects to actual self harm?

I was just wondering if it is possible to replace the action of self harming with just the thoughts of self harm.

I know that people need to self mutilate to release endorphins, to feel pain, etc....to help them deal with their racing thoughts, emotional pain, numbness, or whatever they are feeling at the time that they are trying to get away from.

I know that self harming has a psychically calming effect but I wonder if maybe a person can simply think about harming themselves without the intent of actually doing it...and little by little, maybe feel some kind of alleviation from the thoughts alone instead of the physical action, and then work their way down to not needing the thoughts at all.

I thought about this last night when I was having an anxiety attack, and I haven't actually self harmed or even really thought about it for almost 5 years...but last night I actually had thoughts of self harming and I calmed down a little bit from my attack. It's possible that because I haven't self harmed in a long time that the thoughts would be enough to calm me down this time but might not be enough next time...or it's possible that the thoughts themselves could be enough for the calming effect to take place, without needing to physically do it.

Anyway, I can't find any information online or any research done on the subject so I was wondering if anybody knows about any info or research that has been done, or if you have any thoughts on the subject?

    Thanks.

  • Pregnant and in the hospital with excruciating rib and back pain. What is this and should pain killers be used?

My friend was admitted to the hospital last night. She is 21 weeks pregnant with her second child. Around 2 am she had excruciating pain in her upper abdomen. She said it felt like her ribs were being ripped apart which caused her back to feel like it was on fire.

The hospital ran urine and blood tests. They took a sonogram of her and the baby and nothing seems out of the ordinary. 2 doctors said her pain sounds like it could be a gallbladder problem, but they never really settled on an actual problem.

She was given morphine, even though the doctor stated there is no good research on the effects of morphine on a fetus. At first she was given 3 mg of Morphine. After a couple of hours they gave her 1 mg of Dimarol, which is apparently only given to pregnant women when they have seizures because of the risk of harm to the baby.

After about 7 or 8 hours she signed herself out of the hospital because they had stopped running tests and only wanted to give her more painkillers. She still has pain, but it goes in and out now. She was here on vacation and is going back to her city today where she will contact her own doctor.

Even though she is going to see another doctor, I would like to be more well informed, to understand what is going on with her and be able to further help her.

I read some things online of women having this pain while pregnant, but I haven't really found an answer to what it is.

Has anybody had this problem or know what it could be?

Is there anything she can do to make the pain more bearable?

And how likely is it that the painkillers will cause side effects to the child? Was it a bad idea to take them in this situation?

All responses are helpful, Thank You.

  • How do I find a Prison Pen Pal?

I would like to find a Pen pal who is in prison. I am majoring in Psychology and plan on becoming a prison psychologist. I think it is important to begin establishing connections with inmates now, to know what the prison environment is and what is going on in the mind of inmates. I also feel like I could be a good friend to someone who may really just need someone to understand them and get them out of their own head, and talk to someone who is outside of their environment.

I can't seem to find any good websites though. They all look like dating ads, and most advertise as if they were free but then ask for some type of fee at some point. I don't want to search through dating ads and I would just like to find a way to talk to a prisoner, whether male or female, who needs a friend. I don't mind paying for postage and stuff, but i would like a website without any hidden fee's and stuff.

If anybody is already a prison pen pal or knows how it works, can you explain it to me and maybe provide a good website for finding a pen pal?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks =)

PS- I know you'll think I'm posting in the wrong category, but I see LGBT as a group of friends. This is the most helpful category with some of the nicest people and I feel comfortable askign any kind of question here, as if I was just with a group of my own friends.<3

  • Does online therapy sound like a good business?

I'm trying to make a little extra money and I thought of this idea but am completely unsure on how successful it could be.

I would like to do online therapy, where I spend an hour with a customer in a chat room or through instant message. I would deal with issues of depression, anxiety, loneliness, anger, family issues, relationship issues, identity issues, sexual identity issues, and I have some experience with a couple of personality disorders and psychological disorders.

I would not try to pass off as an actual professional and would urge people to seek professional help if necessary. I just think that most people would benefit from having someone to talk to about their problems. An appointment with a licensed psychologist is more than $100 a visit, so most people can't afford it, others don't want the stigma of seeing a psychologist.

I planned on charging $20 an hour.

This is all still just an idea, i'd like some feedback to see whether I should really do it or not.

    Thanks =)

  • With my situation, should I move or not(long)?

About 7 months ago, me and my bf moved into an efficiency. It's really big for a great price. Water and Electricity included. However, we rent the efficiency from the landlady, while the rest of the 3 bedroom house was also rented out to someone else. The deal was that they would pay for Water and Electricity.

The first week we went without electricity.

Last month the person renting out the rest of the house cut the water stating that their bill was too High and left the house. we went without water for 2 weeks, and then turned it on illegally for the past 2 weeks. On the first of the month we told our landlady and she told us to pay the rent and she would pay the water bill. she lied and turned off her phone so we couldn't call her.

We recently got in contact with both her and the woman renting the other side of the house, they have been consistently lying to us about anything that they can. .

I want to move out immediately because the woman renting is always in our face and the landlady can never be reached when we have a problem.

My bf wants to stay because we are saving money by staying here for a little bit longer, and we can move out when we save a little bit more.

It's also really hard to find a place that is cheap for 2 people in the area that we need(close to both our jobs), that accepts pets (I have 2 rabbits). In Miami, a $500 efficiency is almost impossible to find, and anything else is smaller and/or more expensive.

In another turn-the Woman renting the other side of the house is now going to be renting it to someone else. We can assume that person is nicer and we'll have less problems with them, which is what my bf wants to do, but I don't

What would you do in this situation and what do you think we should do?
