Why am I feeling super emotional, dizzy, nauseous, and tired?
I can not figure out why I'm continuously tired and emotional. I'm not pregnant. I'm not on my period or about to be. I have these horrible headaches constantly, and I get really dizzy randomly, and I often feel like I'm going to vomit. I can not figure it out. The emotional part is what bothers me most. I'm an emotional person in general, but I find myself crying for no reason whatsoever. I can't be having a midlife crisis because I'm 19, and I'm pretty sure that it's not the stress of college because I'm doing really well with school and my sorority this quarter. I had a really busy week last week and didn't get a ton of sleep, but these symptoms started before that and have continued until now even when I've caught up on my sleep. I live on campus but only 45 minutes from my parents, so I see them often, but get homesick all the time, which never happened before. And I can't seem to pay attention to anything anymore for long periods of time. What is wrong with me lately?
2 AntwortenOther - Healthvor 1 JahrzehntFlu and stroke symptoms, but doctors have no answer?
My friend was having severe flu symptoms last week, vomited several times and felt really weak. She started severely freaking out about small things, which isn't like her. She was taken to the hospital 3 days ago and while sitting in the waiting room of the ER, tried to speak, but couldn't. The left side of her face drooped and she tried to tell them that her left arm hurt. They said that she had symptoms of a stroke, but they don't think she had a stroke. The day after she was admitted, she needed to use the restroom, so we took her, and since the IV was in her right hand, we told her to use her left, but it was like she was unaware that she had a left hand, as if she didn't know what to do with it. She still can't speak, and they have her so heavily medicated now that she's unconscious. But she still moves a lot so they can't do an MRI. The doctor said it may be a bacterial infection, but that's all they've been able to tell us. Has anyone heard of anything like this before?

My sister and I are children of the 90's. I was actually born in the late 80's, but all of my early memories involve The Spice Girls and side ponytails. We want to throw a huge New Years party with a 90's theme, but seeing as how I was only about 6 in the early 90's, we need some ideas. We want to have a lot of 90's music, obviously Brittney Spears, N'SYNC, Backstreet Boys, 98 Degrees, etc., will be present, but any other music ideas are welcome. Also, what was popular during that time? Movies, clothing, people? If we're going to pull this off, we need to have all our bases covered. Any suggestions are totally welcomed! Thanks! And Happy New Year!

I made a large powerpoint for our water polo banquet, and I put music to it as well. I'd like to burn it to a CD, but I can't burn the actual presentation. When I save it as a powerpoint movie, the music is all messed up and the slides don't transition well. How can I make it work? I've never used Power Point on a Mac before, and I need to make 30 copies of the show to hand out to all the athletes and their families. Please help!!
2 AntwortenSoftwarevor 1 JahrzehntHow can I end this letter, and do you have any suggestions for the letter itself?
I'm a first-year water polo coach at a high school in CA. I wrote a letter for our banquet, but I'm not sure what to put just before my name instead of sincerely.
I just want to start by saying that I’m so proud of this team, and honored to have been a part of the miraculous transformations that you all went through this season. I’m being honest when I say that I was terrified to begin coaching at SC, and anxious about all of your expectations. But this season turned out to be exactly what I hoped it would be.
I’ve learned so much from coaching JV, and I know how much you’ve learned as well. It’s crazy to look back on those first few days of practice when most of you thought you were going to drown because you could hardly swim across the pool. Look how far you’ve all come! You went from struggling during push-ups to being confident, disciplined, and talented young men. I can’t wait until next season when I get to watch you continue to grow as individuals.
To the Varsity, I’m sorry that your season didn’t end as you’d have liked it to. However, the number of games you won and goals you scored do not in any way define what kind of a season you had. You’ve all come farther than you can imagine in the time you played this year, and for that, you should all be proud. To those who are graduating, may the lessons you learned here help you to pursue your dreams. And to those returning next year, may the lessons you learned here stay with you so you don’t get yourselves in trouble come August of 2008!
Congratulations, Cougars!
Sincerely,
Coach Erin

Ok, so I was talking to my roommates, and we were discussing how all of us have like no game. And I'm not trying to be unkind, but a lot of overweight, unattractive girls have tons of game. I know a lot of it is about confidence, and I don't have a lot of it. I know that I'm fairly good looking, so how is it that girls who are way less attractive have guys all over them? And why do my roommates, who are all really pretty, have the same problem? What are you supposed to do to be attractive to a guy? How can we improve our game? HELP!

I don't usually drink, and I've never been drunk. I've only been slightly buzzed twice in my life, and both times, my shoulders start to hurt. It happened last night at the Halloween party I went to. I only had like one drink and my shoulders started to ache and burn. It's the strangest sensation I've ever had, but it's super painful and irritating. I was wondering if there's some sort of medical explination for it, of if I'm just a freak...

About 3 years ago my dad started being a complete *** all the time. Around every 3 months no one can talk to him for 2 weeks. He drives my entire family crazy and no one knows what causes it. I'm sure he's stressed about work, or whatever, but it's a family business, and my mom, uncle, and grandparents work there. If none of them come home in the worst moods ever, then why does he? My parents are neat freaks, and out house is spotless. During those weeks when my father becomes a menstruating female, he'll go around the house literally throwing things away that are out of place. I'm in college now, and I live at school, about 35 minutes from my parents' house. I was there today, and now I'm back in my apartment. My dad just called to tell me that I left my room a mess, and totally chewed me out for it. He actually took time out of his day to call and yell at me for leaving my room a mess. I wouldn't be surprised if I went back tomorrow and everything was gone. Why does he do this???
12 AntwortenFamilyvor 1 JahrzehntNew name for an award?
I coach water polo at a Steele Canyon high school. When I played water polo at a different high school, we had an award for the person who makes everyone laugh at practice, and keeps the atmosphere light, but in the end, is still dependable and gets the job done right. When I won that award, it was called the Hot Dog award. The recipient received a nice trophy topped with a rubber dog toy hot dog. Now that I'm bringing this award to a different school, I want to give it a new name. Steele Canyon's mascott is the Cougar, so I'd love for it to be something like "the cougar clown." However, it's the obsurdity of the physical award being a squeeky dog toy that makes it so much fun to win, we need something we can get in a rubber dog toy to sit atop the trophy. Any suggestions?

Has anyone heard these songs? We learned them in kindergarten, and I still know all the words, 15 years later. Does anyone know where I could find copies of them? Each letter had a song and drawing that went with it to make it easier for kids to learn the letters of the alphabet. Mimi Mermaid was like "Mimi Mermaid uses her magic mop..." and "Uncle Upton's upside down, uh oh, uh oh"... anyone know what I'm talking about?

Law Enforcement & Policevor 1 JahrzehntHow does a coach gain respect?
I coach water polo at a high school in Northern California, and the kids drive me crazy! I played all 4 years in high school, so I know what I'm talking about. Since it's the novice team, most of them are freshman, and haven't ever played before. I don't get upset with them for losing, because we've lost half of our games so far. But they don't listen to me. I know that freshman boys are immature and obnoxious, but I have a feeling they walk all over me because I'm a girl. I lost my temper with them the other day because I told them to sit as a team, and one kept asking if he could sit on the bench during the varsity game, while 3 others kept snapping their towels at each other. They don't understand that they are representing our team as a whole, and it bothers me that they wont listen to me, but will listen to the head coach, who is a male. I have similar problems with varsity, too. I'm not sure if it's because they think I'm weak, but I need them to give me the respect I deserve.

We're throwing my aunt a baby shower. It's her third, and a girl. I would love to play all kinds of fun games, like "bob for binkies" and "what candy bar is in the diaper" but there's going to be a lot of older people there. I don't have enough time to explain, but my family is really weird, and we have to cater to the older people. The party is going to be really classy, but there's going to be a lot of people so I'd like to have several games and more winners. We do have a very large plastic bottle that we've stuffed with pink cotton balls and everyone has to guess how many are in there. And we have some word search things that came in a little kit. But that's pretty much it. Any suggestions are welcome!!

My parents are out of town, so my little sisters and I are inviting some friends over for a super movie night. I'm 18, one of my sisters is 15 and the other is 14. We're all inviting a few friends, and it'll be co-ed. We're throwing a Gilmore Girls style party, with pizza, Chinese, and Mexican food. We want to watch a classically funny movie. Our family's favorite movie is Young Frankenstein, but we've done too many movie nights with that one. We were thinking Ghostbusters or something similar. I'm not into stupid and gross comedy, like 40 Year Old Virgin, or Napoleon Dynamite. My sister suggested Ferris Bueler's Day Off, which would be a hit, but I'm looking for some more suggestions also. 80's movies are fantastic, as my friends were born in the late 80's and appreciate the quality. Any help is great! Thanks!

I'm 18 years old, and incredibly self conscious. I know that I'm not fat. I'm 5'9" and I weight 157. But my mid section is pudgy, and I'm really uncomfortable. There isn't a single day where I just feel good about myself because I'm always worried about my stomach. Since graduating from high school, I've gained at least 20 pounds. I was a swimmer and water polo player, and after graduation, my exercise level seriously decreased. Although, once starting school at UCSD, I did a lot of walking to get to class, so I lost about 5 pounds. But I want to lose 27 pounds. I'd love to weight 130, or even 135, but 157 is just way too much. I have 8 weeks until school starts, and I'd like to look and feel good when I go back. I've been pretty active this summer teaching swim lessons and babysitting (and we go a lot of places, like the Zoo and Sea World), so I'm getting some exercise. But I need to motivate myself to get more. Any ideas for super fast and effective weight loss?? HELP!

I'm 18, and on my first summer vaction since starting college. I'm bored out of my mind, even though I'm working 3 jobs. I was thinking of going on a road trip with some of my friends. We live in San Diego, so we'd want to go somewhere close. My boyfriend hasn't ever seen the Grand Canyon, so I wanted to stop there on the way. My family has a 5th Wheel, and my best friend has a boat, so we wanted to take them possibly to a lake, maybe Lake Powell? My family always does the type of vacation with a dozen destinations because we stop at all these cool locations on the way. We went to Mt. Rushmore a few years ago, but went to the Grand Canyon, Zion, Vegas, etc. on the way there and on the way back. If Lake Powell is our final destination, what stops can we add on the way there and back that would take us in a sort of loop between San Diego and Lake Powell? Any suggestions are welcome!

My uncle and I are running private swim lessons at his house this summer. We don't have a cute or catchy name for it, so we're just calling it "Alpine Swim Lessons" since we're the only ones in Alpine. I know there's another group in San Diego called Bubbles, which is really cute, but my uncle wouldn't go for something like that. Since I'm a girl, I'm really into the adorable names, but we'd both need to agree. We've already started, so this is pretty much to name the next session, or just to have in mind for next summer. Any suggestions? It should pertain to water, or learning to swim. We were thinking Gupies, or something like that... Any ideas are welcome!

4 AntwortenSwimming & Divingvor 1 JahrzehntActivities for beginning swimmers in small private lessons?
My uncle and I are running swim lessons at his pool this summer. We have groups of 4 kids, with ranging ages and levels. Both my uncle and myself are competitive swimmers, and are really comfortable in the water. We usually split up the kids into groups of 2, and I take the younger kids, who are usually a little less advanced. I just need something to fill all of our time. I have 30 minutes for 2 kids. There's a lot of one-on-one time and a lot of repetition, which I know is good, but I wish we had more activities. I'm trying to get them to blow bubbles. And there's a big step that's in a foot of water and I'll have them place their entire face in the water to get a dive ring. And of course they hold the wall and kick, and then we use kickboards, and they practice jumping in and putting their head under. But most of them are too small and new at this to "swim" from one step to another. I just need more small confidence-building activities to get them comfortable in the water

My boyfriend and I just started having sex. We were both virgins before so I know that neither of us have an STI. And even if we did, we use a condom every time. But tonight I had to make him stop because I had, and still have, this horrible burning sensation around the opening of my vagina. I know that it could be a yeast infection because I've had some minor discomfort for the past week or so, and it's been a while since we've had sex. But it won't go away. It's not as unbearable now as it was during intercourse, but it's still there. I went to the bathroom right after, and it didn't hurt to urinate, but it has over the past week or so. I think I might be allergic to latex because my mom is, and I sometimes get itchy from the condom, but this is the first time I've had any burning. I'm not pregnant because I just had my period, and I don't think I've contracted anything because we've only been with each other and we ALWAYS use protection.
