First off, let me say that if it's the team of a college or high school that you went to, then I 100% understand that type of loyalty. I still love my college football and basketball teams even though i've been out for a few years because I feel a conncetion with them.

My question though is that when it comes to PROFESSIONAL sports, why are people so loyal to their favorite team? I really just don't understand it, players follow the $ or their best chance to win a title, and you are a consumer who is watching a professional sport of paid athletes (not guys like in college where they're doing it for free for their team) why do you support a team through terrible times even with players you don't like with bad attitudes and selfish management? I can understand liking a player and following him, but when a beloved player leaves a team, the fans turn on him, when really HE is the one they SHOULD have loyalty to, not some corporate team, right?

I guess it comes down to this, why is being a bandwagon fan bad? Shouldn't you WANT to see the best players and the best teams play? Shouldn't we punish our local teams for poor management and being greedy (I follow the Knicks & Nets and this is what prompted me to start this question, they disgust me and I see no reason for loyalty).

So why don't we save the loyalty for our friends & family and college/HS teams, and not the local corporate sports team that really just wants your $? This stupid and pointless loyalty is WHY theams like the Knicks still sell out even though they field a terrible greedy team who is destined to fail.

Please, someone give me a LOGICAL reason why I'm wrong.

You wouldn't be 100% loyal to coke if they started urinating in their drinks or BMW if half their cars blew up, so why loyalty to the local PRO sports franchise that just cares about your $ and winning, why give them your loyalty after they've shown they don't deserve?

It is the one in which the guy and girl are rolling down a hill making out, and they pick up a second girl along the way, and eventually fall off a cliff with an axe truck into the ocean, there is ambient music in the background that i love, anyone know what it is, its on tv 24/7
