I've tried a lot of them (mostly free): Fring, Nimbuzz, IM+ Lite.

Any others? I'm sure that there are some more out there.

I'm looking for an app that can handle multiple IM protocols like AIM and Yahoo, and the app must also be safe to use and not sell my info to third parties.

I prefer free apps, but you can also suggest paid apps.

When you become a naturalized citizen of the US, how would you formally renounce citizenship to other countries?

I thought that happens automatically when you say the US Oath of Allegiance during the Naturalization ceremony.

I heard that once you accept a job offer you shouldn't renege from it since it's unethical. The tentative job offer is from a federal agency, and I'm also waiting for the companies that I've interviewed with for a response

I have a gas water heater. It's really old (came with the house).

The part that is encircled, What is it?

The part that is boxed, that's the pilot light, correct?

After wrapping it with blanket of insulation, and turning down the heat, the encircled part seems to be leaking water. It's not much only a few drops every hour, hence the cloth at the bottom.

Usually in the time of crisis, we see the president leading the country and assuring the people that everything will be fine. But Bush is nowhere to be found.

Usually during election season, we see the president and other top officials campaigning for their party members, but Bush is nowhere to be seen. Many Republicans are not using Bush for their campaign.

Where on earth is Bush? What is he doing right now?

I have a Dell e1505 from 2006.

Since my heater is not working right now, my home is really cold. Whenever I turn on my laptop, the fan turns on and it's rather loud. After a few seconds, it goes off and my computer is just fine.

Perhaps this could be that my PC is just a little bit too cold?

In one occasion when I turned my laptop on, the fan went crazy! Plus it slowed my PC to a halt. I had to force it to shut down and restart again. The air coming of the fan was really cold.

Hopefully it's nothing but the cold temperature, but I'm backing up my files to be safe

I liked McCain back in 2000. However his policies turned ultra-right in this election.

Hopefully Obama wins, but in case McCain wins, I'm hoping that he does a 180 and becomes his old self again.

I was just imagining during McCain's inaugural speech something like "Freedom of women to choose. Roe v Wade forever! US citizenship for the immigrants! Universal healthcare for Americans!"

I need to format a text file using regular expressions and emacs, and they want use to make sure that our commas are followed by exactly one space.

How can i make sure that each comma is followed by one space?

There was this show back in the 90's or 80's that had this kid, who was the descendant of ancient Pharaoh.

Then, 4 warriors appeared and vowed to protect the kid from danger. The warriors had magical powers and armor. They would shout a phrase which would transform them.

The armor they had was based on animals the Egyptians considered sacred, like the cobra, cat, etc.

It was a pretty interesting show. Anyone know what's the title?

I keep hearing that you should be able to open a garage door with one hand. Is this true?

I also heard that if you open the garage door, it should remain open at the distance you opened it. If I opened the garage door manually half-way, then once I remove my hand, the door should remain in its halfway position.

Unfortunately, my garage door feels too heavy to open manually and slams shut if I release it. Does this mean that my torsion springs need adjustment?

I just got my garage door fixed so it will open, but now it won't close! The door closes a little bit, then it backs up and the light flashes. I had to hold the main switch in order for it to close.

I checked the sensors and both have lights on them. Not really sure what the problem is.

The opener is from Craftsman and the garage door is made of wood and for a two car garage

One night I was coming home from work and I opened my garage door with the remote.

The garage door opened about halfway, then I heard a loud noise and then the door slammed shut!!!

You can hear the opener still running but the door won't move. The light of the garage door opener is also out. When I press the button on either the remote or the wall, the motor runs.

What happened to my garage door opener? Garage door opener is a Craftsman.

My mom bought a new refrigerator, one of those new ones that have a water dispenser on the outside. Since our house is bit old, there is no preinstalled water line to connect to the fridge.

My brother sees that the cold water line for the washing machine is the closest water pipe to the fridge. The kitchen and the washing machine room are close together. He wants to connect this water line to the refrigerator.

Before this new fridge, we usually get our water from the kitchen faucet. Is the cold water line for the machine clean enough to drink? Are the water pipes for the kitchen different from the rest of the house? I know nothing about plumbing and such.

How can we test the water?

We're in Ohio.
