Dog wheezing and was throwing up?
My 5 year old Jack russell cross started doing what I can only describe as wheezing this morning. She ran upstairs and was fine but when my other dog ran up she got a fright, quickly jumped up and started wheezing. She does this every now and again but it lasted longer than usual and she seemed to start panting.
Usually I wouldn't be overly concerned but I was told she was doing this yesterday morning and she threw up twice in a row the other day.
She hasn't been herself for the past few days but is eating and drinking normally.
She hasn't eaten anything she shouldn't have to my knowledge and I can't think of what could've triggered this.
The wheezing only occurs in the morning.
Should I see how she is over the weekend or should I take her to the vet?
Thanks in advance! I just need another opinion because I tend to overreact when it comes to my pets :)
5 AntwortenDogsvor 5 JahrenShould I get a tortoise or a turtle?
I d want something quite small but I d have a lot of time for it.
Ideally I want something cheap to set up (i have a 60l aquarium at the moment that I could use until I got something bigger if that s any use) however the price of the animal wouldn t matter as much if it was suitable.
If you suggested a tortoise I would rather one that didn t hibernate as I don t think I d feel confident hibernating it - tips would be appreciated :)
Thanks for reading all of that and I can t wait to (possibly) find a turtle or tortoise that meets that long list :D
4 AntwortenReptilesvor 5 JahrenShould I get finches or canaries?
Towards the end of the year I'll be getting a larger cage for my budgies.
The current one has a base that's 18" X 13" and a height of 39"
Would they be okay for zebra finches or canaries? If so how many?
Thanks!
1 AntwortBirdsvor 6 JahrenAngelfish help needed! Urgent!?
Last night all my fish were fine but I've just checked them and one of my angelfishes fins have been completely ripped up. One if his "feelers" are quite short, his tail is basically just a stump as is his top fin.
He's just sitting in the bottom of the tank (I've moved him to his own tank with 1/2 new and 1/2 old water). There's a heater but no filter as I don't have a spare.
Will he be okay?
Is there anything I can do to help?
Thanks
3 AntwortenFishvor 6 JahrenWhat should I name my axolotl?
I want something music related (i listen to classic rock bands - my favourites are queen and acdc) or something marvel/avengers related :)
Just suggest anything you think suits him though even if it's not related to either of the above (i say "him" although I don't know if it's a male or female yet)
Thanks!
3 AntwortenFishvor 6 JahrenWhat type of betta is this?
I know he's a dumbo betta but colour/style is he?
He looks like a wild type to met but I'm not too sure.
I'm assuming it's quite a common type..?
Thanks 😊
Fishvor 6 JahrenBetta tank theme ideas?
I've got a 2 gallon betta tank (temporary until he's fully grown) and I was trying to think of a theme for it.
It currently has small green gravel - we had a spare bag lying around but I've decided to change it - some wood and a few beach themed ornaments so just what I had lying around so he had something to explore until I decided on a theme.
Any ideas?
Thanks 😊
8 AntwortenFishvor 6 JahrenBetta question?
My parents have finally let me get another tank for a betta!
It's a small five gallon tank with a filter (and I'll be adding some live plants when they arrive) but I want to know if he'd be okay without a heater. The only ones I have were from my bigger tanks (that now hold axolotls) so take up a lot of space in the tank. My room is always quite warm but not warm enough to replace a heater...
Also the tank is plastic so would a heater be okay?
Thanks so much!
11 AntwortenFishvor 6 JahrenAquarium help!?
Ive had my axolotl for a few months now and this problem is continuing
While I was cycling my tank my filter stopped working - it happened while I was away so I'm assuming it was off for a few days because an extremely thin "film" had formed over the surface of the water I tried clearing it but it didn't work.
I bought a stingray 15 filter and re-started the cycle.
The water had been fine through the 2nd cycle (ammonia didn't spike up like it had before but I wanted to wait a few months first) and I do water changes every week and it's always been fine but the "film" has always been there.
Any ideas about what it is and how to get rid of it??
Thanks
1 AntwortFishvor 6 JahrenCan you feed axolotls sea monkeys?
I know "sea monkeys" are just brine shrimp so could I buy one of the sets and use them to feed my axolotl?
Thanks
1 AntwortFishvor 6 Jahren125l tropical tank stocking ideas?
I'll be upgrading my tropical tank soon and am trying to decide what to put in my 125l when all the fish have been moved out.
Any ideas?
The ph if the water in my area is usually between 6-7 if that's makes any difference :)
Thanks in advance
1 AntwortFishvor 6 JahrenShould I get a crayfish?
I might be getting a blue crayfish this weekend/next week from a friend as he's outgrown his tank.
I have 2 angels, 3 columbian redfin tetras, a bolivian ram and a chubby pleco :3
He's been living with angels and there's been no problems and the other fish are pretty fast but my issue is the pleco. He hides away most of the time, rarely moving out if the cave (that the crayfish wouldn't fit into) and is around 4-ish".
Should I take him or not?
Im upgrading end of this year/beginning of next so if the fish don't get along i can move him into the 60l when my axie moves out
Thanks guys
Please don't say anything about the tetras needing to be in 6 (my lfs hasn't had any more in a while) and I know angels get big.
5 AntwortenFishvor 6 Jahren2 Axolotls in a 60l tank?
Would 60l be okay for two 4" axolotls? I'd be willing to upgrade as they got bigger and i have a divider in case they don't get along.
I currently have 1 (loki ☺️) but he seems lonely and I did want to try some other fish but after looking into it ive completely changed my mind...
I've looked around online and asked axie experts and some say it's okay while others disagree.
I won't put a second one in unless I'm completely sure because I'd rather loki being a little lonely than missing a foot...
1 AntwortFishvor 6 JahrenAxolotl and guppies?
I was going to get some shrimp to put into my axolotls tank to eat the food he doesn't - would they be okay?
I was also considering getting some guppies or white cloud mountain minnows...
Could I see how my axie (Loki) reacts? Or is it better not to risk it?
My tank is 60l if that makes a difference
Thanks :)
2 AntwortenFishvor 6 JahrenCrayfish and plecos?
I've been wanting a crayfish for a while now but I have a chubby pleco (He's about a year old but doesn't really come out of his cave alot... Rarely ever actually :D) are there any types of crayfish I couldn't have that wouldn't bother him?
Thanks :)
1 AntwortFishvor 6 JahrenUrgent! Should I move my fish to a smaller tank?
I have a 60l tank with my axolotl and 125l tank with 2 young angels, 3 columbian redfin tetras, a bolivian ram and a chubby pleco.
My 125l would be much more suitable for my axie as it has a spray bar filter (I'm pretty sure that's what they're called) and I could get another one to keep him company but I'd have to move the other fish to a tank just under half the size. I do know how big angels get and how much water they need but my axie would be so much happier..
If it was a good idea to swap them I'd have to swap the gravel from each of the tanks too - is this okay?
Also would I be able to put half the water from the 125l into the 60l? Or would it have to be completely refilled and recycled? And would I be able to put the axie in the water that my tropical fish had been in (after the water had cooled to the right temp)?
I've been keeping fish for a few years now and only want the best for them so please no hate if this is a really bad idea...
Well done - and thank you - if you've read this far.
4 AntwortenFishvor 6 JahrenWhats wrong with my fish?!?
I just noticed that my stomachs of my columbian redfin tetras are really bloated. There's three of them and they're all the same but the other fish in the tank are okay... What's wrong with them?
2 AntwortenFishvor 6 JahrenMoving my fish to a new tank - good or bad idea?
Before I say anything I know what size angels grow to and I will be upgrading the tank (hopefully before the end of the year) this is temporary.
I have two small angels, 3 columbian redfin tetras, a bolivian ram and a chubby pleco in my 125l tank. I also have an axolotl in my 60l tank.
I was wanting to move the trop fish to the 60l because I know that my axie would be happier in the bigger tank because of the filter - I also know that the tropical fish I have will grow really big.
They would only be in the smaller tank until around September/October time so would they be okay??
I'd also have to move the sand from the 60l to the 125l... Would this be okay?
Also would I be able to put the axie in the water the tropical fish were in (Id wait until it cooled down) because the water has just been tested and is okay
And if I took some of the axie water out and replaced it with water from the tropical tank (and waited for the tank to heat up) would that be okay??
Thanks so much!
Btw I've been keeping fish for a few years now and I know this is probably a bad idea... I just want the best for the fish but my axie needs more space...
Please no hate!
Sorry it's so long
1 AntwortFishvor 6 JahrenCrayfish in a 60l tank?
I currently have an axolotl in my 60l who will be moving into my 125l when I upgrade it later in the year. I really want a crayfish but I don't know if the 60l tank would be big enough for one. I've heard 6" is the max size they grow - is this true?
