  • Has anyone noticed the bias in Yahoo political "news" stories ?

It seems since the election is getting ready to ramp up that Yahoo has started their one sided news agenda again. Everything negative about Republicans, Unemployment goes over 9%, barely a word. Sarah Palin gaffs about Paul Revere, 3 days on the front page. Do to this and all the bias last election by Yahoo, I am starting an E-mail campaign to ban all Yahoo advertisers. Over the next few days I will be sending E-mails to all sponsors and letting them know of the situation. Are there any conservatives out there that agree with me ? If there are do the same and we will reach millions !

  • More payback for the teachers union ?

Obama calls for longer school year

President Obama said on the "Today" show Monday morning that American students attend school a month less than kids in other countries -- contending that the school-year gap puts them at a competitive disadvantage in the global economy. "The idea of a longer school year, I think, makes sense," he said, when asked if kids should go to school year-round."

Teachers will want more money to work more hours, Travel and spending will be cut down as summer vacations disappear, Taxes will go up to pay to keep schools open longer. Air conditioned schools will see dramatic cost increase in utility bills. Does he every consider all of the problems that his policies will create ?

  • If the stimulus is working, why is this happening?

By HOPE YEN and LIZ SIDOTI, Associated Press Writers Hope Yen And Liz Sidoti, Associated Press Writers – 1 hr 1 min ago

WASHINGTON – The number of people in the U.S. who are in poverty is on track for a record increase on President Barack Obama's watch, with the ranks of working-age poor approaching 1960s levels that led to the national war on poverty.

Census figures for 2009 — the recession-ravaged first year of the Democrat's presidency — are to be released in the coming week, and demographers expect grim findings.

It's unfortunate timing for Obama and his party just seven weeks before important elections when control of Congress is at stake. The anticipated poverty rate increase — from 13.2 percent to about 15 percent — would be another blow to Democrats struggling to persuade voters to keep them in power.

I guess the change he was talking about, was the number of poor people in the country. Okay all you people who think Obama is the Messiah go ahead and blame Bush. 2 years and still no responsibility taken by Obama or his followers. Fortunately enough people in this country have seen the truth and it will show in November.

  • Didn't he just say he has been incharge ?

Didn't he just say (last week) that he and his administration have been in charge of the disaster response effort from the beginning ?

    Obama Quote

"I am furious at this entire situation because this is an example where somebody didn't think through the consequences of their actions," Obama told CNN's Larry King. "This is imperiling an entire way of life and an entire region for potentially years."

Obama said BP has felt his anger, but added that "venting and yelling at people" won't solve the problem. His remarks were to air Thursday night.

Obama had not previously voiced such sweeping criticisms of BP. But he said Thursday he had not seen the kind of "rapid response" from the British company that he'd like.

  • Isn't this the same guy that 18 months ago said the war had strengthened al Qaeda?

Tue Jan 26, 7:52 am ET

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – President Barack Obama said in an interview aired on Tuesday that al Qaeda has been weakened by U.S. actions, and as evidence pointed to a taped message purported to be by al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden about a failed Christmas Day airplane bomb plot.

"Al Qaeda itself is greatly weakened from where it was back in 2000. Bin Laden sending out a tape trying to take credit for a Nigerian student who engaged in a failed bombing attempt is an indication of how weakened he is because this is not something necessarily directed by him," Obama told ABC's Good Morning America.

"Since 9/11, we have put in a series of measures that make us much safer now than we were before," Obama said, referring to the September 11, 2001, attacks.

Obama has been criticized by Republicans over his administration's response to the December 25 bombing attempt on a U.S.-bound airliner. The Yemen-based regional wing of al Qaeda has said it was behind the plan to detonate a bomb as the plane approached Detroit.

In an audiotape aired on Al Jazeera television on Sunday, a man purporting to be bin Laden claimed responsibility for the failed attack.

The tape, which U.S. officials could not immediately verify as authentic, praised bomb plot suspect Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab and vowed more strikes at the United States.

On Monday, the U.S. State Department's coordinator for counterterrorism dismissed the message a grab for "reflected glory" and not a sign that bin Laden was behind the plot.

  • Why doesn't 0bama ever take any responsibility ?

In his speech about the Christmas bomber, not once did he take any responsibility. He just continued to blame everyone else. I guess that means he doesn't have a clue what is going on with the security of the nation. If he did then it would have been at least partially his fault. Now he just looks like an idiot that didn't have a clue.

  • Can a Democrat explain this to me?

I just got my annual update on my military retirement pay. Once a year in December they send out the 1099-r tax forms and an update on how much your retirement pay will be going up the next year. I do not have state tax removed from my check, only my federal tax, I always figured that would be easiest because I may decide to move around after I retire from my post military job. Anyway I would like someone to inform me why for the first time that I have ever heard of that my monthly check is going down. That's right this congress and administration have decided that they appreciate what the retired military people have done so much that they are actually giving us what amounts to a pay cut. It's a 20% federal tax increase combined with no raise. Why would the fed do this to us?

Costco Protects Palin From Tomatoes By Taking Them Off Shelves

A Costco in Utah took tomatoes off the shelves during a visit by Sarah Palin, after the Alaska Governor was pelted with the fruit on a stop at the Mall of America. Via Harpers, the Salt Lake Tribune reports:

Rappaport stopped at the Salt Lake City Costco to do some shopping, unaware that Palin was scheduled to be there for a book signing. [...]

The clerk told her they had no tomatoes that day.

    No tomatoes? At Costco?

As she was leaving, she noticed a man with a store manager's name tag and asked him why they had no tomatoes. He informed her the store did have tomatoes, but they were taken off the shelves for a few hours.

It turns out that Palin had been pelted with a tomato at an earlier stop on her book tour and the management at the Costco was determined it wouldn't happen here.

This a front page story on Yahoo right now. How low will liberals go, throwing food items at the opposition just because they disagree with them. It's very immature, non productive, and totally classless. What do you think?

  • Why do Democrats support Lobbyist and not the people ?

WASHINGTON – Most Americans want Congress to deal with malpractice lawsuits driving up the cost of medical care, says an Associated Press poll.

Yet Democrats are reluctant to press forward on an issue that would upset a valuable political constituency — trial lawyers — even if President Barack Obama says he's open to changes.

The AP poll found that 54 percent of Americans favor making it harder to sue doctors and hospitals for mistakes taking care of patients, while 32 percent are opposed. The rest are undecided or don't know.

BEIJING – President Barack Obama sat down with the Chinese leader Monday night, hours after he pointedly nudged his host country to stop censoring the Internet access, offering an animated defense of the tool that helped him win the White House — and suggested Beijing need not fear a little criticism.

  • Carter and Nixon what have we got ourselves into?

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – A top Republican invoked the memory of the scandal-marred Nixon administration on Wednesday to urge U.S. President Barack Obama to "back up" and not "start an enemies list."

Senator Lamar Alexander told Reuters he has begun to see the Obama White House adopting an attitude similar to that of the Richard Nixon White House four decades ago, that "everybody is against us and we are going to get them."

Alexander cited as examples the Obama administration's suggestion that it may support stripping the insurance industry of its exemption of federal anti-trust laws, its clash with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the president saying he will call out people who oppose him and boycott Fox News network.

Alexander, a member of the congressional Republican leadership, said he is "suggesting that the president back up" and "don't start an enemies list."

Alexander made the comments at the Reuters Washington Summit, a series of interviews with key Washington figures, in advance of a speech that he plans to give later in the day on the same topic on the Senate floor.

We tax cigarettes at an unbelievable rate because they cause cancer and supposedly the tax payer needs repaid for the medical expenses. • How much proof do you need ?

This morning there was an article on yahoo, it said 0bama wants all student loans to go through the department of education and be backed up by the U.S. government instead of the banks, that are used now. This will give the government total control of who gets loans and is able to go to college. Plus expand the powers of the fed and hurt the private sector banks. The bill has already made it through the house and is on it's way to the senate.

How much proof do you need that this administration wants to control your life and business in this country?

  • Has the President lost the big picture?

Responding to critics who were concerned about the country's skyrocketing budget deficit, Obama cited the financial burden health care puts on the federal government, with its health programs for the poor and elderly.

"I hear a lot of people say, 'How can we afford this right now? We've got to reduce our deficit,'" he said, taking boos from some audience members when he said he inherited a $1.3 trillion deficit from the previous administration of Republican George W. Bush.

This is from a current article on Yahoo's front page.

So is he saying by covering more people the burden on the gov't will go down?

How does inheriting a 1.3 trillion dollar deficit justify tripling it ?
