Bonjour, je suis étudiant à une université anglaise (en première année) et pour un travail important, il me faut faire une étude d'un sujet qui a un rapport avec la France ou la francophonie - tant qu'elle a un tel rapport, il peut s'agir de n'importe quoi ! J'ai déjà quelques idées mais l'idée m'est venue de venir ici pour vous demander de me donner encore plus d'idées. Tenez compte seulement du fait qu'il faut etre un sujet que je peux analyser (plutot que simplement présenter). Merci d'avance de vos idées :)

Salut, Je suis étudiant anglais et je suis en train d’étudier ce film mais ce que j'ai du mal à comprendre, c’est la signification du placard qui se lit ‘le Monde est à vous’ et pourquoi plus tard Saïd, il le bombe pour qu’il se lise ‘nous’ au lieu de ‘vous’. Si vous avez vu ce film, vous saurez bien ce dont je parle. Je m’excuse si cette question a été déjà posée plusieurs fois mais j’aimerais bien savoir vos opinions. Merci d’avance!

Before I go on, I'm not here for a lecture about how I should back-up my stuff. I really don't need it right now.

Basically, my memory stick has just been through a twenty minute wash. I've heard that they can survive as long as they're properly dried out but for how long? There's no wear exactly warm in my house like an airing cupboard. I'm not sure it's a good idea either to blow it with a hair-dryer as I don't want to melt any of the connections! Any suggestions? Also, is it true that rice is good for that kind of thing or is that just a myth?

Hi, Ich bin Englander und studiere Deutsch. Im Moment muss ich eine Region "im deutschen Sprachraum" studieren. Die von meinem Lehrer gewählten Region ist die Schwäbische Alb und ich muss darüber in der mündlichen Prüfung sprechen. Ich kann aber im Internet nichts über die Sitten und Gebräuche in der Region finden (auβer der Sprache). Könnten Sie mir helfen?

I'm going to a gig on Saturday and I'll need to get there by train from Essex via London to Hertfordshire which is where I'm going. Anyway, according to the weather, it's supposed to start snowing 'lightly' in the south-east on Saturday - so on the same day...

I'm just wondering if this will effect the trains at all. Surely, with trains coming and going all day, it doesn't have a chance to settle. Surely, it's only at night it starts to settle, freeze and cause problems. So do you think it'll be a problem?

I'm soon to be replacing my current phone but if there's anything I use it most for, it's for taking photos. So I'm looking for a phone (on Pay as you go) with a fairly good camera that has some useful features for taking photos and also ease of use. I'm not much interested in many other of the phone's features but I'm not planning to spend more than £100! Thanks!

Je suis anglais et étudiant de français. Pour que j’aie de bonnes chances d’aller à l’université pour étudier le français, je cherche à lire un ou deux livres français. Je viens de finir de lire une version traduite en français du livre ‘The Beach’ que j’ai trouvé assez facile à lire mais je cherche un nouveau défi.

J’aime bien lire normalement les livres qui parlent de ce qui se passe vraiment dans le monde. Pour donner un exemple, j’ai récemment lu un livre (anglais) qui parlait d’une femme qui a été surprise en train de faire du trafic de drogues et a été emprisonnée en Thaïlande.

Je vous demande simplement si vous pouvez me recommander un livre assez facile à comprendre étant donné que je suis anglais. Merci d’avance !

I've just restored my laptop completely by re-installing windows because it was ridden with viruses, general clutter and it was really slow. Anyway, I have restored and now it's super fast but I can't connect to the internet because there isn't a wireless utility I can use to select my router. I've checked in all the settings in Control Panel but I can't work it out. Can anyone help me? It would be appreciated. I do have a desktop with connection (clearly) so if there's something I need to install I can transfer it from there.

In respone to first answer, no-one is running it anymore. Honestly, can;t you read?

I do occasionally have problems with it but I can usually fix it. I sometimes get the message (when I test my connection) that Xbox can't resolve the DNS settings.. blah, blah. So I usually fiddle around with those settings and It's back working. This time however it refuses to work, I've tried some of the public DNS servers but they haven't worked either. I know it's not simply my internet connection because my computer works fine, else I wouldn't be asking this question.

I'm trying to configure this app Jaadu VNC for my iPhone and I need to enable this UPnP thing on my router. I've logged onto my Belkin router settings (192.168.2.1) and it says in all the statistics that it is currently disabled. I've gone through every tab on the side looking for one to enable it but I can't find it!

Where is it?

City have spent about £68 Million on strikers this summer when they already have 5. It's all very well to have a good to have a good attacking force but without just as good a defence and midfield you can't feed that force.

Also, with so many strikers, they can't keep them all happy.

Are there any alternatives? (No, I do not want to use my parents' account)
