We live in Maryland, and in March of this year, I had to take my daughter to the emergency room. I dutifully paid my emergency room co-payment charge, and the doctor's fees. I was told the rest would be handled by my insurance company (Blue Cross).

A few weeks later, I received a bill from the hospital stating that laboratory fees ($66.20) and emergency department fees ($169.70) came to a total of $235.90. My insurance company paid them $238. An overpayment of $2.10. Now they want an additional $164.10 from me. Various calls to their customer service department resulted in various answers ranging from "Oh, I think there is a mistake" to the latest "Our contract with your insurance allows us to demand this even though the procedure did not cost that much." Of course, I have never seen the contract, and my demand to be given a copy was ignored

My contracts law class was a long time ago, but I do remember that not all clauses in contracts are necessarily enforceable. Advice? Thanks!

I find that the definition of what constitutes a Viennese ball in the United States is quite different from a ball in Vienna. If you have been to either one, please share your impressions with me.

What did you like and/or dislike?

What was the venue/location of the event?

Was there live music?

Did you only dance the Viennese waltz or other ballroom dances, as well?

I am thinking about organizing a ball, similar to the ones held in Vienna, Austria, as a public relations/fundraising event. Thank you.

Ladies (and gentlemen, too, if you have ideas),

I am looking for a pair of navy blue silk or satin evening sandals. However, here is the catch, I need the following elements:

1. 2.5 inch heel (slim, but sturdy enough to withstand vigorous ballroom dancing)

2. Closed heel and ankle strap, to provide stability (anybody who was ever danced Quickstep or a Viennese Waltz, will understand)

3. Leather soles, but not chrome leather, as I need to wear them outside (there is no place to change shoes; it's a summer ball in Europe and there are four dance floors in the park of a castle)

Do you have any ideas, where I can find such shoes? I have spent hours scouring the Internet and still came up empty- handed. Thank you!

What type of music do they generally play? Is it more suitable for standard or Latin dancing? If yes, what types of dances are most frequently played, e.g., Foxtrot, Waltzes, Quickstep, Jive/Swing?

If anybody has any experience, I would much appreciate your response. The reservations are due by Friday, so we have to make up our minds rather quickly. Thank you!

My husband and I will attend a formal, white tie Viennese Ball in November 2008. I have several evening gowns, but only one real ball gown, which I wore to an event yesterday, and don't want to wear again in autumn, because these gatherings typically attract the same audience. In short, all the ladies try to have as much attire variety as possible. Where can I find (either online or in the metropolitan Washington, D.C. area) a ball gown made for an adult? I am not looking for a prom dress, but a sophisticated gown with a full skirt that permits Viennese waltzing. Oh, and I am not willing to spend thousands of dollars either, so Vera Wang or other designers are not an option. Thank you.
