When I opened my rear bike wheel, I found that the metal shaft in the centre (surrounded by ball bearings) was broken. I searched local stores for bike axles, without any results. Looking online either brings up quick release axles (without the adapter), or the entire axle with adapter. I only need a simple metal shaft with screws on each end...where exactly can I find one?

Yesterday, I was biking when suddenly the pedal locked it...almost fell off. Upon closer inspection, the pedal still works, and does move my bike, but it's incredibly hard to pedal and a lot of rubbing noises. When I turn the wheel by itself, there's no problem, and I can turn the pedal freely if I'm not on it. But once I get on, it messed up again. The wheels is pumped, the chain is in the right place, everything's oiled, so what could possibly be wrong with my bike?

I've recently switch from Bell to a voip phone service, and now my home security system doesn't work. I called the security company and they said they'll have to charge me an extra $200 for some device that might make it work (and I have to pay the technician whether it works or not). What exactly is this device? Can I get it elsewhere? Is there something I can configure on my router to make it work?

I download lots of zips/rars where the files are right in the compressed document, no folder to separate the, so when I try to extract them all at once, the files come out unorganized and all together. Is there a program where I can mass-extract the files to a folder?

When I plug AV (red, white, yellow) cables from my bluray player to my surround sound receiver, all the speakers play, but when I use HDMI, only the left and right speaker do? Why is that? Is there something in the settings I must tweak? Or is my player?

You know that wooden board you have in your basement, that connects all the house's wiring, electricity, TV, internet, phone and so on? Well mine has a battery attached to it, it's connected to a circuit board that leads to holes labelled bathroom, kitchen...etc. What exactly does this battery do? Is it like backup, for when the power goes up, is so, how do I activate it? Having trouble Googling as I don't know that that wooden board is called.

Windows update is seriously pissing me off, one time I cancelled an update and had to restore my computer. This time, I had to cancel an update because it was lagging me, and now, I get the installing message everytime I turn off my computer, and when I check for the updates installed, it's the same ones over and over again. Googling doesn't help, as it points me to irrelevant, but more common update problems. How do I fix this?

I've asked this question before, saying I need to replace a part in my external hard drive (the chip that connects the usb and power to the actual hard drive. The response I got was that I needed to buy a whole new enclosure. When I try search for that, I only get ones for SSD, what do I search for the movable disc hard drive I have (HDD?), or can I just get the chip?
