I don't like tacky or stiff, but my hair is so limp and fine. I use gel to style (used to use mousse) and once it's blow-dried I spray. Most hairsprays either hold like shellac, or they don't hold at all. What's a good one that won't cost me an arm & a leg? And, what's a good way to dilute some of the tackier stuff?

When I do occasionally win I usually just get a receipt and the cash. But a few days ago I was paid AND I was given back the winning (small prize) ticket. I didn't think anything of it, at the time, but now I'm wondering: Could I submit it for payment a second time?

I know it's a bearer instrument, but would an agent be able to tell that it's been paid out already? Just curious.

The people at work are all into the Jumble and Cryptoquote from the Comics section of the newspaper. I'm getting pretty good at the Jumble, but one guy always beats me to the answer. Anyone know a site that posts the answers to these games? Just once I'd like see this guy's face by my beating him to the punch.

Second word has to be "UP". I tried everything I could think of, ending in "ED" and "ING", but it kept telling me No.

Can an average Joe sell them on Amazon, or Ebay, or Craig's List? Does it take a lot of set up? The outlay of these things is ridiculous. I'd like to recoup a decent amount of the damages.

I'm currently with a free blog site that does not permit advertising, but I've grown a pretty steady following. I've been thinking of switching to a pay-site that allows for advertising, but wouldn't want the costs to be greater than the revenue. Do advertisers find you, or do you have to seek them out? I've heard some mention of Google Adsense (sp?). How do they work, and are there similar services?

Can a leaky outdoor faucet lead to a burst pipe if the temperature goes below freezing, but the house itself is kept warm? And if so, how cold would it have to get outside for this to happen?

What materials, and what steps do I need to take, to repair a two tile hole in my shower stall? I have the tiles. The plasterboard behind it deteriorated, due to the moisture. The hole is apprx. 7" x 3 1/2". Is there a special kind of plaster I should use? After the plaster is fixed what kind of adhesive should I use to set the tiles in place? Good grouts or silicones for the gaps? I need from start to finish. I can't afford to hire anybody, but I'm moderately capable when I'm feeling confident.

I have a gas furnace with baseboard heating in my house. When the heat kicks on I get a LOT of loud banging. I understand that it's probably air in the pipes, and that they probably have to be "bled", but I don't know how to go about this. Is this something that the average Joe can do - and how - or do I need to call a pro?

It's relatively warm and wet today. Do I have to worry about more freezing temps that we'll likely be getting? If it's too soon, when is the earliest I can do this?

Is there any truth to something I used to hear years ago, that says: if the officer does NOT show up for the court date that the judge will/can dismiss the ticket? Is it a discretionary thing, or is this just somekind of urban folklore?

I'm assuming you'd have to plead innocent. It sounds a little weasely. Considering the officer wrote the ticket up as a lesser charge would this be really bad form? (Should I just take my lumps?)

Sears Kenmore Electric Dryer. Spins, but NO hot air. Thinking it's the thermal fuse or heating element. Can either of these be replaced by yourself, or do I need a repair man? Any idea as to the cost of repair? Does it pay, or should I look to get a new unit?

Did anyone happen to see this morning's Sunday Morning with Charles Osgood? The last story, before the nature closing, was about this amazing stone mason, but I didn't catch his name. I checked the show's website, but they seemed to have everything BUT that story! (Wouldn't you know it?)

It was pink, about a quarter of an inch long (maybe a little less), and kind of resembled a small cricket. I'd never seen one before, and it was in my bathroom sink. I wasn't sure if I should just wash it down the drain, or leave it be. Might it have been a juvenile cricket?

He always kept his composure. Never showboated. He was extremely versatile and durable. Had a great relationship with the media. Very polite and articulate. Always dressed to the nines. And, his #s speak for themself. And all this for a Jets team that ranged from terrible to near great.

I'm a Bills fan living in Jets/Giants territory, but this guy always impressed me. The man deserves much more attention and respect than he's received, in my opinion.

Any other pure football fans feel the same way?
