Why was there a tree of life? There would have to be death for the tree of life to have any meaning, which means god created imperfect beings.

If you feel that slavery and rape are immoral, which is contrary to the God of the Bible's morality, you would essentially be creating a more perfect morality than God's "perfect" morality, a logical impossibility.

If you feel that rape and slavery can be moral (because God says so) one could argue from that vantage point the imperfect nature and morals of God.

Basically, if you can contemplate a greater, better, more perfect morality than the God of the Bible, then the "perfect" God of the Bible must not exist.

If you choose one of the major religions, of which there are about 20 or so, you have at best a 5% chance of getting it right, no matter which religion you choose. The atheist has at least a 95% chance of getting it right, and more likely 100%. Numbers don't lie (unless it is the book of Numbers, of course).

What would Jesus do if he saw a question or answer on YA that he didn't like? Would he be a wuss, and report it to have it removed? "Ha, got you on a technicality!" ?

If you want to prove your side of an argument, you don't win by silencing the opposition. It actually helps to prove the point that religious types have no substance to back their claims. "Let's remove everything with which we disagree." That's how religion has thrived for thousands of years.

There is a story in the bible about a man that touched the Ark of the Covenant, and was immediately killed by god. Apparently, even though the man was trying to be helpful, that was forbidden and punished with death. Why doesn't god do that for all sin? Why does he ask man to kill for him when he is obviously able to do it himself? Wouldn't things be a lot clearer, morally speaking, if god were killing all the sinners, instead of man picking the victims, sometimes the wrong victims, and picking which rules were to be followed?

Doesn't that imply that they didn't know good from evil before they ate of the tree? They couldn't know that disobeying God was evil, could they? And why was nakedness evil? Who was being offended? Certainly not God; He made them that way. There were only two people there. Were they offending, and offended by, each other?

If the universe is so complex that it requires a designer, wouldn't god, who must be infinitely more complex than the universe, also require a designer?

God knows everything. He made everything. He knows what the future is, and will be. What does he have to look forward to? He can't learn, he can't be surprised. Is that why He created man, for some sort of amusement? But then again, he knows what each and every one of us is going to do and think, so that would be boring too. Thoughts?

If all mankind is descended from Adam, why do we have so many different ethnic groups? We have so many people that look so different from one another, how did that happen? And if there are environmental factors that cause the differences, doesn't that support, at least to some degree, evolution?

I just received a court order, notification of contemplated dismissal, from an absolute divorce I received seven years ago. What's that all about? Am I really divorced?

Can my boss hire or promote someone WITHOUT the minimum qualifications posted on the job description, bypassing others with the minimum requirements? This is a government job in Maryland
