Should I get imac or macbook pro?
Just as a home computer, if we got the macbook pro it would replace a desktop computer. We also have a laptop. Price does matter a bit. Salary sacrificing is possible for macbook pro but not the imac. No major needs for portabililty (apart from printing but you can use usbs for that) but the imac 2011 is reasonably portable anyway as it only has one cord. It will get quite a lot of use, but not so much for editting videos(once a year max), maybe a little editting photos but not professionally. Mainly school assignments and internet. Obviously, more memory and faster speed would be preferable.
Here are the specs:
Imac 2011 21.5” 2.7Ghz: $1698
• 2.7GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5
• 1920 x 1080 resolution
• 4GB (two 2GB) memory
• 1TB hard drive1
• AMD Radeon HD 6770M with 512MB
Macbook pro 2011 15” 2.0Ghz: $2099
• 2.0GHz quad-core
Intel Core i7
• 4GB 1333MHz
• 500GB 5400-rpm1
• Intel HD Graphics 3000
• AMD Radeon HD 6490M with 256MB GDDR5
• Built-in battery (7 hours)2
Macbook pro 2011 13” 2.7Ghz: $1698
• 2.7GHz dual-core
Intel Core i7
• 4GB 1333MHz
• 500GB 5400-rpm1
• Intel HD Graphics 3000

I'm just interested. I'm from Australia.
How many school days/weeks do you have each year?
Do you wear uniforms?
How big is your school?
What year are you in?
Is your school co-ed? Are many schools co-ed?
Are there many people from other cultures there?
Lots of sport teams? Which ones?
How are your school years grouped? (Primary school etc.)
What subjects do you do?
What subjects can you do?
When does your average school day start and end?
Do you have lots of clubs and non-sport teams?
Any other interesting info?
In Australia, we have four 10 week terms each year so that adds up to 40 weeks or 200 days of school a year (obviously with weekends off) with probably about 1 public holiday every term. I think pretty much every school in my state, Victoria, wears uniforms. I'm in year 9 at a girls school. Probably about 50% of secondary schools in Melbourne are co-ed, the rest being either girls schools or boys schools. There are about 700 people in the school all up, my year has about 140 people, but some of the older years have about 110. There are not a lot of multi-cultural people in my year, maybe 1 with Chinese parents, 1 German, about 4 people with dark skin, and no-one from the US or England. There are lots of sports teams. Athletics, swimming, diving, netball, basketball, volleyball, badminton, indoor cricket, outdoor cricket, afl, tennis, soccer, rugby, and so on...
In Australia we have 3 year old kindergarten, and 4 year old kindergarten, then primary school, which is years prep, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, then secondary school (called college) which is years 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12. Then most people got to uni.In year 9 we do the core subjects (maths, english, religion, science, australian history, geography, LOTE (language other than english), and 2 electives in the first half of the year and 2 new ones in the second. I just finished doing drama and fashion(textiles) and I am about to start visual communication and IT. I could have also chosen music, art, silk painting, foodtech. School starts at 8.40 and finishes at 3.15. We have an environment club, a debating team, public speaking team, about 15 different bands, refugee tutoring group, and that's about it for this year. Most people get a mobile phone for the start of year 7 so at the age 12. By year 9, most people at my school have iphones or smart phones.
Thanks, please take your time to answer my question, i will choose a best answer.

Okay, my birthday and christmas are coming up, so everyone is asking me what I want, except I can't think of any ideas. I'm a girl turning 14 in about a month. I already have a camera, ds, sims 3 and I don't want to ask for dvds (because that makes me look like a TV head).
In the kids kris kringle, we are buying for my cousin who is turning 15 in Feb. He's not the sort of person who lives for videogames (and their family already has plenty), and the price limit is $100, but we can get a few smaller things, or one bigger thing. He does surfing and lifesaving multiple times a week, except he already has a lot of that stuff.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Ok, so i'm doing a debate for english, and at the moment it's a bit over my time limit. I'm second speaker, so 1/3 of my speech needs to be arguing back to the oposition said. This is my two points, so I'm hoping you could either shorten them, or tell me any bits that I can leave out. Oh, by the way my topic is "public transport in melbourne should be free" and i'm in the affirmative team. Thanks!
Now, if we didn’t have to pay, we would be preventing global warming in a few ways:
Number one, if we didn’t pay, we wouldn’t be cutting down trees to make tickets. And, deforestation is one of the main contributors to global warming. Another point is how there would be less cars on the road, because more people would be inspired use public transport, as this would cost less money than buying petrol for their ride. Which brings me onto the next part, less people driving cars would mean less petrol is being released into the atmosphere, therefore, preventing global warming and sustaining our resources a bit longer. And, not buying petrol would help save money, which the government could put towards trains, trams or buses.
Another point I would like to make is how unreliable this transport system is, and how we shouldn’t pay for something so unreliable. According to the Victorian Government’s transport website, about 3/10 of the trains of the Frankston line arrived later than they were scheduled to, in the last 12 months. And worse still, on the Wattle Park tram line, only 65% of the trams arrived at their destination on time, which means 35% of them don’t, and for those of you who haven’t caught a tram before, that’s a lot. Do you really want to pay for something as unpredictable as that? One small problem, like a faulty door in one carriage of one train, can disrupt the whole train line. And f it’s not delayed, most of the time people are packed into public transport like sardines in a tin, that’s if everyone fits in the first place. If you were an adult, and you wanted to buy a ten times two hourly ticket, for travelling in zone 1 and 2, that would cost over $40. Is that really fair? So you see, we really shouldn’t have to pay for something that has a reasonably sized chance of not being there.
I also have other parts of my debate, except I won't post them all. If you want to see them, then just ask.

6 AntwortenVideo & Online Gamesvor 1 JahrzehntI need to write a conclusion for my essay? 10 points!?
I have writen an essay on Bend it like Beckham (movie), explaining why the wedding scene was "flamboyantly choreographed and visually dazzling." We had to write one paragraph about the music, one about the costumes, and one about the camera shots. I've done all of that, and now I can't think of what to write for my conclusion. Please help? Thanks in advance!
Here is my essay so far (you don't have to read the whole essay, I just put it there in case you wanted to, even just giving me a guide of how to go about writing my conclusion would be great):
The movie, “Bend it like Beckham,” is about an Anglo-Indian teenager, who has a dream, but has trouble making her parents believe in it too. Directed by Gurinda Chadha, and released in 2002, Bend it like Beckham managed to make the wedding scene elaborate and radiant, by using effective camera shots, intricate costumes and well-suited music. This review will discuss how they managed to achieve this elaborate vibe.
The music in the wedding scene of Bend it like Beckham always seems to perfectly suit the moment. They have used the music to show us the mood, the setting and what is happening. There are very few moments where there is no music playing and these moments are always very serious. One example of this is when Jess’s father walks outside in the middle of the pre-wedding celebrations, because he sees Joe outside the house. The music gradually gets softer and when it gets up to the part where Joe is talking to Jess, there is no music anymore. This is because it is a very serious and important section. It is also to contrast it with the liveliness of the party. One example when the music is not Indian themed, is when Jess is taking a free kick in the grand final. It is slow, churchlike and operatic. The song is called Nessun Dorma and it turns into a major key when Jess is kicking the ball. This music is very powerful and shows how important this moment is, especially to Jess. The Indian themed music is mainly used during all scenes that are at Jess’s house. The music works superbly at all of the pre-wedding celebrations. It is sometimes a blend between techno and traditional, but it is always fast-paced, slightly minor, and often has a strong beat. All of the music used is ideal for what they need and is therefore, stunning.
The costumes that Gurinda Chadha has used throughout the wedding scene of Bend it like Beckham are impressive and eye-catching. All the people of the Indian culture in this movie dress using many bright colours which is contrasted with the dull, unadorned clothes of English culture. Even the men wear very brightly coloured clothes compared to the plain clothes that English men wear. During the wedding scene, most of the men wear neutral trousers, colourful shirts and a turban; although, the groom wears a white shirt and pants and shoes with gold patterns on the edge, along with a pale red, Indian patterned scarf and a pale red turban. They make an obvious comparison of the difference in style between the men in these cultures when Joe turns up at the Bhamra’s the night before the wedding. The well-adorned clothes of the Mr Bhamra are contrasted with the Joe’s plain black suit with a white shirt underneath. A third example of the decorative Indian wear compared to the plain English wear is when Jess is getting changed from her soccer uniform, back into her pink wedding sari. The soccer uniform is mainly white with a little bit of red on it, and is now very dirty. Jess’s teammates help Jess change out of that and into her perfectly clean, ankle length sari that has gold edges and gold dots on the big sash. Gurinda Chadha definitely created the striking effect she was after.
Gurinda Chadha has used countless different camera angles and shots to create all of the amazing effects that were used during the wedding scene. By using different camera rotations, angles, distances and speeds, a wide range of effects have been created that have helped us to feel the moods in the scenes. A great example of this is when we have a very long shot of the Bhamra’s house the night before the wedding. We can see their house with bright lights on standing next to all of the other houses, which are in complete darkness. The music is lively party music is still playing in the background, and because of all of this, we can tell how big their celebrations really are. Another example of the fantastic ways that they use their camera, is when Jess is spinning, on the night before the wedding, with something [I’m not sure what it is] balanced on her head, the camera is at eye level spinning in circles from Jess’s point of view, gradually increasing speed as Jess does. The best part of this shot is how they decided to film it from Jess’s perspective. It really gives us a good idea of what Jess is feeling in this part of the movie. Gurinda Chadha has used numerous inspirational camera techniques in Bend it like Beckham.
