I was going to use silver nylon (I think it's lamé) and bond it to felt with temporary fabric glue before I edged it with a very tight zig zag stitch. After that I was going to sew it (straight stitch) to fleece backed satin. It is to put an emblem on a superhero cape for my daughter.

Does this seem like it will work? I didn't purchase any interfacing at the store today and I really want to get going on this tonight.

I'm hosting a Halloween party for my local mom's group and have no budget. I looking for some preschool level, preferably non-competative, cheap to free games.

I left the invitation on their door over a week ago and the party is on saturday. I still haven't heard from them. I don't have their number and no one was home when I attempted to stop by. Can I safely assume that the girls next door will not be attending?

I'm totally freaked out by it. I read the bites aren't to dangerous, but I'm a bit (or a LOT) phobic of big bugs. I tried to use a shoe but I was too afraid to get close enough to do it. I don't use hairspray, but I have general cleaning products, would any of them kill it on contact? I don't want it to scurry off leaving me to wonder when that big a** spider is coming for me?

My mom has a lot of plants I'd like to take clippings of to grow in my yard. Some are rosemary, mint, and verbena. I think I've heard the method varies by plant, so helpful websites are also appreciated.

So today was my birthday it was comically bad. I spent the majority of it scrubbing the bathrooms and toilets and doing laundry. My 1 year old, who is normally super happy, cried all afternoon and threw tantrums over nothing. And my 3 year old threw up on the bench just as we were about to be seated at our booth for dinner. We were super hungry but had to go home. We ordered the food to-go and the baby screamed all through dinner. I finished dinner and my 3 year old woke up to throw up again and now I'm getting some unsettling stomach gurgling.

The only worst birthday was the one where I got fired!

My beagle is 7 years old and is well potty trained but we just moved to a new house and he is peeing all over our brand new carpet without warning! We keep them (we have another) in crates whenever we leave the house and let them out to a dog run regularly.

Help!! My husband is dead set against him being outdoors full time, but I don't want my new house to be a piss pit!!

My parents are concerned about the box fan I was using in the baby's room causing a fire. They claim it's a common cause of fires. Has anyone heard of a box fan, or any freestanding fan causing a fire? Are there any special circumstances involved in the combustion? I would love any links supporting this. It sounds crazy to me.

I've got another question out and I'm ready to pick my "best answer" but for the life of me I cannot figure out how to do it!

I was thinking of taking my kids to see this one and then I saw it was rated PG for action and peril. My 3 year old does get scared pretty easily from movies, so I'm not so sure now.

Has anyone seen it? Can you describe what exactly the action/peril is like? my son has been scared by the vulture in Horton Hears a Who and the Robot in the incredibles, but loves all of Spy Kids 3, and Shark boy and Lava Girl.
