I've read a few very disturbing passages in the bible, but the one i've just discovered is one of my favourites! Here, some verbal pornography in Ezekial:

Ezekiel 23:20-21 (NIV)

20 There she lusted after her lovers, whose genitals were like those of donkeys and whose emission was like that of horses. 21 So you longed for the lewdness of your youth, when in Egypt your bosom was caressed and your young breasts fondled.

So I'm just curious, does it turn you on? or make you blush...?

IF so, then your choices are like curves in a puzzle... some go in, some go out, but ultimately you fit into the cosmic plan... and like that puzzle piece, you have no ultimate control over what you do. this means, dear friend, you have NO free will... and in that vein, all those who are sent to hell had no choice to begin with... it was a part in this "perfect" plan. Trillions go to burn forever, some go to heaven... those fortunate enough to be swayed by those around them at an appropriate age. Skeptics and free thinkers, hellbound. People who believe in other gods, hellbound. IF god has a plan for your life, then there is no free will and all who are destined for hell were sent there before they ever knew they would be born.

unless you're willing to give it all away and contract AIDS and die along side the Africans, don't contradict me, just posit a guess as to why the wealthy are so deserving of god's blessings. And don't also say that they are wealthy because they were holy in god's eyes... i'll just say this, Paris Hilton.

and others. my question is this: if the children were born evil and would grow up evil then there is no such thing as freewill, for god created evil children who could not be changed. if they were NOT evil then god is a nasty one indeed for slaughtering innocent children.

so why did god kill all of them?

It appears to me that ...-ee is someone to whom the verb root is acted upon, whereas ther ...-er is the someone doing the acting. i.e. Employee is employed by the employer. So what of escapee? the same cannot be said of that word, it makes no sense: the escapee is escaped by the escaper? Any thoughts on why this is? or what the actual correct usage of the "...ee" and "...er" is?

I keep reading answers by christians who say that god can do whatever he wants, or chooses, or desires to do but that language implies a few things about god that make him smaller than you're supposed to believe he is. first of all, if god is omniscient and omnipresent then there is no "choice" to be made. god cannot desire to do two different things since he already knows what he is going to do. second, to want is to not already have. if god can do anything then he cannot want anything. or desire it. finally, for now at least, to do things or to want or to think or to choose all put god inside a linear timetable, that is to say that if god is capable of wanting and choosing between options laid out before him and then acts on them according to their timing then he is smaller than time itself. nothing in the bible says that god is NOT inside time and the very fact that he's referred to as eternal (a time word) shows that he probably is. So, can god actually "want" anything?

and no opinions people, i want proof.

if god is all power and all knowledge, just like you believe, but he didn't offer heaven as a reward for obedience, would you still believe and obey? if yes, then you truly believe and love god simply because he's god... if no, then all you want is the cookie offered by the big papa in the sky and his omnipotence and power mean little to nothing.

The Good News Bible even provides a footnote explaining this:

YOUNG WOMAN: The Hebrew word here translated "young woman" is not the specific term for "virgin", but refers to any young woman of marriageable age. The use of "virgin" in Mat. 1.23 reflects a Greek translation of the Old Testament, made some 500 years after Isaiah.

Deuteronomy 20:10-16

why was god making the jews kill people for a space in the desert unless this god was unaware of the fact that the world was bigger than that. trust me. i live in the northwest of the united states, this is a MUCH better place than the desert of israel. if god was truly all powerful, why didn't he just transport the jews to a much more fetile ground? instead he ordered the DEATH of the infadels (much like the muslim extremists of today) and made them camp out in the desert... was god unaware of the spherical earth and the much better lands elsewhere, including but not limited to, the northwestern united states?

If you believe that god instigated evolution and a day=a million years, how old was adam after god created him on the 6th day and rested on the 7th? it's the same word used, "yowm," to mean your 1,000,000 years and the translator's "day."

Other than, perhaps, the success rate in the eradication of neighbouring races... man woman and child.

an animal eats when its body tells it that it needs to and has sex when its body tells it to. a human eats when their body says to and has sex when their body tells them to. what is the difference? why is it a sin for man to have sex, but not to eat?

Matthew 10:5-6 (NIV)

5These twelve Jesus sent out with the following instructions: "Do not go among the Gentiles or enter any town of the Samaritans. 6Go rather to the lost sheep of Israel.

Matthew 15:20-25 (NIV)

20These are what make a man 'unclean'; but eating with unwashed hands does not make him 'unclean.' "

21Leaving that place, Jesus withdrew to the region of Tyre and Sidon. 22A Canaanite woman from that vicinity came to him, crying out, "Lord, Son of David, have mercy on me! My daughter is suffering terribly from demon-possession."

i just read a little bit more and after this he refers to her kind as DOGS!

if god existed then there would be one expression of him on earth, not thousands, just like the fact that our moral compass is unified. every culture agrees with the idea of "doing unto others as you would have them do to you" but no two cultures agree on who god is or what he/it is. so how can we know if god is real?

sure would make the whole "what happens when we die" question easier to answer!

if not, then what of the sociopathic murderers who do not recognize right and wrong... what of the retarded and invalid? schizophrenics? if god creates a broken man who must suffer all his life and then also banishes his sould to hell then god is not love. he is evil.

if you have a rebuttal, please give me the scriptural reference... the whole verse if you want, or just the reference, i'll look it up anyway.

but alas, where in the bible are the laws of thermodynamics written? is it yet another example of something men came up with that is not included in the supposed bood of everything by god? surely if thermodynamics were the best way to prove god he would have written them down somewhere. instead we get a flat earth [1], rain and hail kept in storehouses in the sky [2] and animals that give birth to spotted and striped offspring due to rods in front of which they had sex. [3] that is practically the opposite of a well thought out thermodynamics argument. just like man created the age of accountability, the age of consent in marriage, most of our ethics, we also created the idea of thermodynamics.

II Kings 2:23-24 Good News Bible

Elisha left Jericho to go to Bethel, and on the way some boys came out of a town and made fun of him. "Get out of here, baldy!" they shouted. Elisha turned round, glared at them, and cursed them in the name of the Lord. Then two she-bears came out of the woods and tore forty-two of the boys to pieces.

that's just one example of an evil god who works for a man of faith like a Jinni in a bottle... why doesn't he do that anymore?

anyway, if the entire bible is one and not contradictory, is this the good news?
